Nutt faces sack 08:00am on 02 Nov 2009 I really think Proffesor Nutt should consider bowing to Mr johnsons superior knowledge on this one.
One can easily see how an ex postman and now career politician can have aquired a greater and in depth knowledge of the perils or otherwise of drug abuse.
Proffesor Nutt and his fellow scientists, who I understand give their time and effort on an unpaid basis, have spent their lives in pursuit of scientific excellence which is why of course they have been asked to serve on the advisory panel .
This of course pales into insignificance when placed along side Mr Johnsons credentials.

Obama snub denied by Brown camp 1:45pm on 24 Sep 2009 What a complete nonsense !. What on earth are they doing there anyway, Gadaffi is given a stage for an hour and a half of meglomanic rant . It realy all so meaningless. Just another stage for thee people to strut on.
Then we have the award to Gordon Brown and in attendance Bono. Who is this idiot who likes to think he has some influence on the world stage? He's an Irish pop singer for crying out loud.Put the vote he would be put on a desert island never to have been heard of again. Hopefully! We do not have special relationship with the USA, we tag along on their coat tails in the hope of being given a few crumbs from their table. The special relationship extended to them charging us every penny for goods supplied to us in WW2 but giving the japanese and the Germans everything supplied to them afterwards. To the victor the spoils, i don't think so.
We need to stand on our own two feet and tell them you can afford these wars we can not. We are now constantlypunching above our weight, it will come home to roost eventually.

Many of us fell for the Tony Blair "New Dawn" back in 97. Would we have gone for the Gordon Brown "nirvana is just around the corner" had we been given the opportunity to vote. I some how doubt it.
We have unelected people of questionable qualities in positions of extreme power and every man jack of them in denial that any of them had anything to do with the current disasterous mess we ,our children and our childrens children are being left to clear up and pay for . This is politics,its a game to them, power & greed(and boy we have seen plenty of that). Who ever wins the next election means that many will have gone but the ones who have a safe seat and you do not get to a position of power without a safe seat, will still be there vying for the limelight,collecting their pay and allowances and and for the most part not competant enough to be running much more than a small corner shop let alone a Country.
If they ran a large company in a similar manner they would have broken every rule in the book in respect of their fiducary duties and would have been disqualified from being a director for an eternity.
How Rover executives pocketed £42m 08:00am on 11 Sep 2009 What is the problem? The phoenix 4 took 9 mil each out of rover over a period of 5 years.Salaries and whatever Bankers have been taking that every one or two years and we will let it continue and the taxpayer owns the majority of them
I have no doubt these guys did try. Look at the financials. BMW gave a 500 Million loan and approx 450 million stock. £45 miilion is a drop in the ocean. Even with 950 million they could not get it to work.. Be honest with your selves offered the deal BMW offered would you not have a go and would you all have paid your selves £50k a year. I dont think so!
Can governments squeeze bankers' pay? 06:41am on 04 Sep 2009 These politicians are more transparent than a pane of glass. To announce they are contemplating restricting bankers pay is a purely populist move and designed to hopefully help them to hang on to power for a little longer. It is unworkable nonsense. If a senior banker has not delivered on his watch and the bank is one that has a majority shareholding held by the government(ie the general public) then they have control over what goes on. Idf it is a privately controlled bank then they/we have no business interfering and if it is a PLC then the shareholders can make their own opinions known. If a private bank or PLC bank then has problems for whatever reason there should be no repeat of public funds being used to bail them out. They must go bust if they have to QED
No end in sight for F1 power struggle 03:10am on 19 Jun 2009 It is the teams that make the sport not moseley or ecclestone. Their financial control makes a mockery of the word sport.
Get rid of Moseley or lets see the FOTO world championship.
Survival but at what price? 06:29am on 06 Jun 2009 I am very dissapointed not to see Simon Cowell appointed to a senior political post and leavng Piers and Amanda out of government is a serious ommision. Stravros Flatley and son would have made good overseas development ministers and of course Susan Boyle for Arts.

So what is now laughingly called a Government is not much more than a bunch of unelected GB cronies,people who have had to leave government a number of times for inappropriate activities, people who do not have the integrity to say what everyone else can see. "GB you are a disaster" as they would rather cling on to some power while it is available to them. Plus of course a raft of MPs with dodgy expenses claims that "were within the rules"
The honest, upright Labour MPs with integrity must be in despair.
Victor Blank may be proved right (eventually) 3:23pm on 19 May 2009 Victor Blank was smoozed into the HBOS deal by Gordon Brown. He felt ,presumably , he now had really helped the PM out so eventually there would be something in it for him/them.

As soon as it started to go wrong Gordon Brown hung him out to dry and left him there.

Let's be honest it's nothing less than one could expect from Gordon. Shame Victor didnt have the sense to see it coming.
Why tax the rich? 07:37am on 25 Apr 2009 The reality is Labour know or are pretty sure they are a busted flush, so if there is a slight chance of them being re-elected next year they have gone softly on the budget this time round. They know they are going to leave the next party in a horrendous situation but if they might get in then the first budget will be a really nasty one, taxes up like they are strapped to an atlas moon rocket and in a couple of year it will be back to a sensible position so for the following three years they can tell us how wonderful they are for getting the position under control and we can trust them with their handling of the economy. Its not about us ot the benefit to UK Ltd is all about power not much more and not much less.
