Who is your Person of the Year for 2009? 4:21pm on 23 Dec 2009 I would vote for Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger the Airline Captain who landed the Airbus A320 with a textbook emergency landing on the Hudson River, saving all 155 people on board.I think we could call him a Hero.

There has been a big news story here in N Ireland this week.
A man who was having a family stroll on Camlough Mountain in County Armagh with his family when it suddenly turned into a nightmare. A Stag attacked him leaving him badly injured; he had been seconds earlier, taking pictures of it before it attacked him.
Tom Morgan suffered more than 20 puncture wounds during the attack and was only saved by the intervention of Rory Coffey, a part-time cage fighter, who had caught sight of the attack in the distance.
Mr Coffey, who suffered several injuries himself, managed to wrestle the stag to the ground and prevent any further injury to the group.
My question is why would this Stag have attacked this group? And how unusual is this attack?

God's "messenger" to be released 8:49pm on 17 Aug 2009 What a shame this happened but I agree the regime would have come up with something else to keep Aung San Suu Kyi locked up.(That is not excusing what Mr Yettaw did.)Sometimes when I look at the world it is hard to think it is 2009 and things like keeping Aung San Suu Kyi (the peoples rightful leader) under house arrest for 14 out of the past 20 years is still allowed to happen.It is sad when countries like China say "The World should respect Burma's Laws" but we can still hope she will be released soon.

If you are a business man for example and buy a load of stock say "jeans" or "shoes" is he not taking a risk and hoping that they will sell for the price he wants them to what happens if they do not sell and he make a loss is he a gambler or a trader?
As far as I know the PMS invested in property and not the stock market.

Remember a lot of good people have been hurt and been devastated by the fall of the PMS. For what it is worth I would be careful who I write to and remember real lives of honest people are involved here.

How can we as Christians make a difference to the World if we are not prepared to show Love and Grace in practical ways to help our fellow man. I think it was Paul who said in Romans: "Love worketh no ill to his neighbour therefore love is the fulfilling of Gods law" or put simply "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" it is easy to say these words and hard to do in practice but the World I think would be a better place if we all at least thought about it. .

Well said Peter.. as a member of the PCI I agree 100%. We now need to give practical help to the investors who are finding it difficult to pay their bills etc through no fault of their own.

Breaking news ... 5:38pm on 31 Oct 2008 "Obscene phone calls are an offence, so it's just as well that Andrew Sachs is a nice man and decided not to phone the police." I agree with this 100%.Just because it took a few days for the public to hear about the broadcast and complain does not mean that they jumping on the band wagon I think that a lot of people were shocked at what they heard and wanted the BBC to do something about it. If you or I left a message on someone's Phone like that it would not be long before we heard from the Police or their Solicitor.
I think that Andrew Sachs has come across has a decent man and certainly does not deserve to be abused on his answer phone by so called super stars.
Dying for a Drink 5:21pm on 15 Oct 2008 Hi Everyone
I have not posted here for a while but I thought I would put in my two bits about last nights programme Dying for a Drink and a visit to Craigavon Hospital.
( what I am about to say is in no way running down Craigavon Hospital in fact I have nothing but praise for them
but it about the system we have here in NI.
Well done William I thought the programme was great and well thought out.
My thoughts are that here in NI the problem with alcohol and its abuse is badly neglected. I have just come home from visiting a friend in Hospital where he has ended up due to drink. He has spent the last 3 weeks drinking 2/3 bottles of whiskey a day. He is highly intelligent has plenty of money has a lovely house and children but can not overcome the evil drink. He ended up seeing things; spending large amounts of money and being verbally abusive to his family and friends.
Here is the problem:
When he asked could he be moved to a special unit to seek further help they told him that no beds were available anywhere and did not know when if ever there would be a place for him.
When we look at our A&E Units every weekend they are full of drunken people.
Why is more money not spent on prevention and education and more units opened up for people who genuinely want help? Why is it not talked about more in Schools?
Before some may say it is their own fault remember this:
They did not start out wanting to be an alcoholic. They live for drink. They will do anything to get it.
I think it is an awful illness and the frightening thing is it could be you or me next if we are not careful.

I believe that the Church in its true form will still be here long after the latest fads are gone

Jesus built his church founded on Love
and even if you do not believe in God this is a good statement from Jesus:

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you.
