The Watson Open 8:34pm on 20 Jul 2009 no-one can fault westwood for going for that putt at 18. A golfer can only control his own golf ball and any other good pro would have tried to make that putt thinking that if they missed it would cost them the open. In the end that wasn't the case but westwood surely must win one of the majors. I really thought that Watson was gonna win it on 18 it was so sad to watch that final putt and then the playoff. As for Cink he is a quality player and has only recently gone to the normal putter after using the belly putter for years and it held up under the pressure. He went unnoticed all week but his name was on the leaderboard most of the week.Well played to the guy.
Britons face familiar challenge 10:10am on 16 Jul 2009 the reason they show tiger is because they look at the tv ratings and the go skyward when hes playing.
On the couch with Padraig Harrington 09:52am on 15 Jul 2009 I can't believe how harrington has managed to win one major let alone three. I know its not just about the swing but when you look how good Sergio is when they stand on the range together, compared to Harrington hes in a different league. Padraig is closer to a sunday hacker than a major champion. His short game is sublime though and apparently thats the difference between us and them.

Harrington has got no chance. More chance of knitting fog I love that.
Woods ready to light up Turnberry 4:19pm on 14 Jul 2009 I would have to agree with the comments from spindrift27. I know the commentary team try to make it more interesting commentary for the viewing public, but Peter Allis doesn't have a clue what hes talking about and I think the BBC know that and its part of the reason they put him on. Also the bbc should provide HD viewing we pay enough for the tv licence. I would like to say though that Ken Brown out of them all does know what hes talking about and hes good entertainment with his ken on the course.
Woods ready to light up Turnberry 4:11pm on 13 Jul 2009 I can't wait to get upto Turnberry, Im travelling from Wakefield on Thursday and its the first time Im going to see TW in full flow, I went to royal liverpool practice day and he did a no show and obviously last year at birkdale he was absent, so am very much looking forward to seeing the great man this year on what looks like a spectacular setting for the Open. I can't see past Tiger for the victory if he gets a good draw with the weather, his driving has been excellent for his last three tournaments, hence he won two. Westwood is playing soom good stuff and will be inspired by his pairing with Tiger and finally Kaymer how bout three in a row?.
Who's the greatest? 8:48pm on 06 Jul 2009 the guy who reeled off all the stats was interested reading and i agree with all of his points except Tiger hasnt won 34 european tour events, he hasnt even played in that many in his career. He has counted majors and world golf championships on top of PGA tour victories but they are co-sanctioned events. he actually has 7 european tour victories that were not co-sanctioned events, but none the less Tiger is the greatest sportsman/woman of all time.
Glover stands tall to overcome sentimental hopes 9:04pm on 25 Jun 2009 now that ken brown has lost one of his jobs from a certain sports channel could he please have some input to these blogs because he knows what hes talking about.
Brilliant Barcelona outclass Man Utd 1:25pm on 28 May 2009 Sir Alex was so confident that his united team were better than this barcelona team he tried to play football against them instead of doing what Chelsea did in the semi-final and ultimately they were taken apart by a brilliant footballing side. Arrogance on the part of the United manager and at the final whistle he knew it.
