Changes to BBC Weather site 2:35pm on 30 Nov 2009 I do understand the benefits for some, especially for the small minority of the world population that are American.

However until the BBC and the remainder of the media totally stops using Fahrenheit temperatures there will continue to be confusion and uncertainty.

It is as if somebody is illogically trying to wait for the old people to die before taking the inevitable step.

There are many places where, as a general rule, animals are not normally welcome. However an exception is made for guide dogs, so the sign is for the benefit of people that may otherwise embarrass themselves by being a self appointed jobsworth.

Perhaps there is a need for a "Be sure of your aim when jumping on bandwagon" warning or "Mind the gap" [Mind: to pay attention to (something)] sign.
BBC News radar 3:22pm on 04 Apr 2009 Having now had a day or so of using it I still think it is a good idea, but I have two gripes.

The first was immediately apparent, in busy news periods stories have disappeared from the bottom in the time it takes to (fill in blank).

Second, because there is no way of knowing what type of content is behind a headline I find myself clicking on news items that open up with an automatic video and/or a video that uses all my bandwidth/processor power to prepare itself and which prevents closing of the page/scrolling to the text till it has done its thing.

So as said previously a greater number of stories before they scroll off the bottom, a time limited list rather than the last 30 stories might be more useful at busy news times while retaining the last 30/50 as a fall back minimum.

With some sort of icon to show if a story is video only, video with text or text only to allow people to decide what they wish to skip.

Gripes aside it is still a useful extra, thank you very much.

BBC iPlayer now available on a toaster 10:09pm on 01 Apr 2009 Sorry nice try, but not so much Poisson d'Avril as poisoned. I suppose spaghetti on toast would have harked back to 1957, Dimbleby set too high a bar for today.
A new look for F1 8:02pm on 05 Mar 2009 When it is possible to read it I might let you know, the colours are not a help to people who have eyes getting a bit on the old side.

Black is not the new anything.
