Man Utd are worthy champions 11:31am on 18 May 2009 The facts are clear, Liverpool have a slightly higher net spend than Manchester United however I think this is a red herring. The challenge as Fergie implied this weekend, was winning the first trophy. You can spend billions but unless you can create the belief, mentality and team spirit to win that first trophy then you have problems, Benitez has shown that this is a struggle for him. United took time under Fergie to win that first trophy (it is the hardest of all to win), similar to Benitez and following that it all became easier. When Fergie started he had Liverpool and Arsenal to find a way past, Liverpool now have chelsea, utd and Arsenal to overtake. You need a special manager to break that sort of strangle hold. Benitez whinging season after season, shows that perhaps he does not have the mental strength to finish the job and rather than looking at the team's fragility he seeks exuses outside of his control...perhaps if he began to take responsibilty things may change. No one says it is easy to break into the championship winning bracket, and Fergie over 20 years has earnt the right to make it a hard party to crash.
On and off 5:19pm on 10 Sep 2008 I am sorry but the commitment of the bbc to show key sporting action??? Like what?? The Olympics...well i suppose you had to show that one and...

I suppose you have still got a chance to out bid woof tv for "me and my dog"...obviously I'm only talkign about the highlights as live would not be value for money!!
