How much pain can you take? 1:09pm on 01 Apr 2009 I agree it is bad form to walk out of a screening but I just had to for the horrors that are Quiz Show (Robert Redford - such a dull film) and Last Man Standing (Bruce Willis one - pointless nonsense). I wanted to walk out of Audition but spent the eyes/needles scenes with my head under my coat instead. Plus the Director Takashi Miike was there and said in his introduction he expected half of us to walk out, so I wanted to prove him wrong. Plus I sort of liked the film, in a horrible way.

Career Review: Mickey Rourke 11:22am on 19 Jan 2009 Having seen the Wrestler at the weekend, I can't recommend it enough - Rourke IS Randy the Ram. The film marks the tragic fall of a has-been 'action hero' and is also a fascinating glimpse of the close, matey Wrestling fraternity in the US.
Top Ten Reasons to love Mary Poppins 1:12pm on 04 Dec 2008 Going with the 'dark is ok' family films theme, a new comedy short film called 'This Way Up' has won awards at childrens film festivals in Scandinavia, despite being conceived as an animation for adults:

Feature films such as Belleville Rendevous, WALL:E and The Incredibles are quality entertainment for any age - proving that the 'family audience' is more sophisticated and perhaps open minded than it is often given credit for. Having grown up on dark fairy tales and Roald Dahl, it strike me that we should be making more feature films of this ilk in the UK.
