You hit the nail right on. And this is something I am very annoyed by BBC. As they are feeding fuel to fire to the people that want an enemy. Resulting in ties that might have mend to continue to sour. This causes tension and war, which is detrimental to general public.

If only BBC stick to reporting the facts. Britian might have become the best partner of Russia, China and EU and not only US.

There are a lot of attack by rioters
The police came in to break the riot
There are a lot of arrest

Chinese website probably has : There is a major riot attacking and killing people. The police came in fast to break up the violent protest and arrest a lot of people. There is suspicion that the riot are incit by terror groups with external agenda.

BBC probably has : There is a major protest in china. The police came in hard to break up the protestor and arrest many. There is a lot of death, with the protest claiming the police to have cause the peaceful protest to turn violent. Mr/ Mrs XXXX a local in western country claim that the people are constant in oppression by the China government and protest is a peaceful march to tell the government, until the china government start to apply extreme pressure on the protest. I blame the china government for the death caused.

This is the power of edtior and how I view all news outlet. The truth is out there, however, all have different agenda.
Obama's Iran dilemma 11:57pm on 15 Jun 2009 The lack of respect for freedom of choice is very apparent here. The people choose someone that the west do not like and we see all the mud smearing at the election process.

Try again next election. Why must opposition force a do or die approach. This will only result in chaos, death and eventually arrests.

It is very sad. The biggest country that preach freedom and democracy (USA) is the one that believe it the least, when it is not to their benefit.
Conflict of party and private lifestyles 11:26pm on 10 Jun 2009 I know of a few chinese studying in my country and they are not from rich parents. Although my country is not as expensive as UK, it is comparable. So I guess this is very normal in China.

Anyway, how much the UK citizen know about the private life of their politicians.

It is as unacceptable in UK as in China. So I would hope for greater transparency in UK and CHINA. Eventually my own Country.
Today's generation of young people 12:53pm on 03 Jun 2009 Actually I found the youth with eyes shut are more prelavent in the western world. They did not bother to research and believe their media truely without any doubt. They expect the government to look after them but not activity involved is asking for more transparency of their government. Instead of researching on the policies of individual political candidate, they vote along party line. They allow lobby groups to take over the steering of their government.

At least the chinese youth know that their government has lots of space to improve. At least they are pushing their govenment to be more transparent and accountable. They may not be able to choose the candidate, but they try to ensure the govenment trys to follow the wish of general public. Which is food and living condition improvement.

Unlike the Western world, where they vote for their government but fail to make their government work for their benefits.

There is a saying, when you point at others with your hand. There are three fingers pointing back at you. The forefathers of the western world fought for freedom, to be only exploit by the rich and wasted by the people.

There must be improvement in china and same for the western world. China must improve on human rights and freedom. Western world must learn responsibility to safeguard their freedom and improve on human rights too.
When does old age begin? 11:14pm on 18 May 2009 I hope I am that active when I am that age. It is with envy that we see healthy people at that age going around enjoying life. I doubt many people living in other Asian cities will enjoy good health due to massive stress. Something to learn from and work towards to.
Still searching for answers 00:27am on 12 May 2009 Sometimes one building collaspe while the rest is left standing in an earthquake. This is because of natural frequency, so not necessarily due to poor building construct. However, it might be due to poor building construct that result in the speed of collapse. And cause the high amount of death as they do not have sufficent time to escape.

Some people cannot get over the grief and need to blame someone and not GOD. The chinese government must learn to due with them like what the US government did to katrina victims.
What Specter's defection means 11:01pm on 29 Apr 2009 Any person that vote along partyline and not what they thing is best for country should not be elected. The media need to educate the people to this. Who care which party the person belongs to, look at what the person voted for.
For a person to switch party to gain election.... Ditch him fast.
More philosophical question about torture 11:22pm on 24 Apr 2009 Ask John Mc Cain if he gives any useful information to the viet when he was tortured. Ask the US war veterans did they give any useful information to the viets when tortured.

The torture is CIA agent wanting revenge and wanting to appear to do something. The world is a more dangerous place because of the Bush/Dick approved torture.
One day when your child disappear from the surface of earth for a few years just because of race and going to iraq before. Then the Child returned, tortured and forever different. Tell me then it is okay to torture an potential innocent just in case your child might be a terrorist.
Dissenting voices on torture covered up? 11:16pm on 21 Apr 2009 Torture is use a tool of revenge. It never was a tool of information gathering as bribing works better.

So some people just loe to torture to try to gather information as they want to feel they are doing something.
