Personally the price and the inability to use the app in the background will prevent me from subscribing

Growing appetite for mobile data 3:52pm on 14 May 2009 As well as dongles I'm sure the iPhone is a major driver in increases in mobile data demand. I know that until I got my iPhone I never bothered with data on my phone. To be honest I find current 3G speeds fine, its coverage which needs improving IMHO.
Apple playing catch up? 09:46am on 18 Mar 2009 As an iPhone 3G user I was happy with the update. I didn't expect any hardware orientated announcements (more capacity, better camera, video recording, faster processor etc.) but its good to see Apple continue to invest in the iPhone for current users (most of 3.0 will work on the original iPhone) - I don't think I ever got any new features on any other brand of phone I bought in the past after purchase.

Mobile Music - how unlimited, how free? 1:34pm on 25 Sep 2008 I have to agree with 9.

I won't even consider buying mp3s that have DRM but even without DRM most are still too expensive.

For example I picked up the latest Elbow album at a supermarket (whilst I was doing my shopping) for £7.93 with all the benefits mentioned above by 9 (nice artwork, a box, easy to play in my car, uncompressed and most importantly a permanent archive I can go back to if my PC and backup system fail). The same album at a leading digital music outlet is £7.49. I don't think I would have paid more than £5.99 for the digital version.

- Doesn't cost as much or more than a physical CD,
- Doesn't lock you to a particular platform or player,
- Doesn't risk losing your music collection if the supplier dies (or simply changes their mind)
- Doesn't put you through more hassle than filesharing,
- Doesn't take away your right to sell on your property when you've finished with it.

All true, and a choice of bitrates would be nice as well
