Good stuff! I've done the high hurdles once (I'm a middle distance man like you) and it was an experience I don't wish to repeat. I did clear each hurdle with an almost vertical jump and finished in 23.7s, but I drifted to the outside of my lane and the guy next to me drifted to the inside of his with the result that we were practically holding hands for 110m!
It's the Cotswold Olimpicks this evening - not going to have another crack at the shin-kicking title?

You can add Bangkok to the list of cities not to run in; even if it was possible to find space to run in, the pollution and deathwish driving of the tuk-tuk drivers make sitting in a bar drinking copious amounts of Tsing a far healthier option.

I don't think Steve is trying to claim credit for Andy Baddeley's success - that is down to hard work by the athlete himself - but merely pointing out that criticism of the 1500m athletes in general made Baddeley re-evaluate his attitude.

I'll be a spectator at the trials tomorrow and it will be interesting to see what sort of reaction Dwain Chambers gets and how the other 100m respond. I for one will not be cheering him.

My tips for the semi-finals 5:51pm on 19 Jun 2008 #34, Marselle Desailly's English may be only marginally better than your French, but it's a whole lot better than the English of Messrs Hansen, Shearer, Lawrenson and Waddle, not to mention the ITV 'experts' - Andy 'Them Players' Townsend and whichever 'top' manager has the good fortune of sitting next to him.

In fact I would prefer to listen to MartinO'Neill or almost any of the foreign pundits that the BBC have used now or in the past rather than any of the above-mentioned....ok, I'll give you Peter Schmeichel!
