Digital music - who's making money? 12:42pm on 08 Oct 2009 As others have said the problem with legal services is that people want (no I would go further - expect) to own something when they buy it and to have no restrictions.

The other advantage of illegal downloads is that pretty much everything is available in one place regardless of what the labels (or the artists) want us to have.

Try downloading the Beatles legally and see how far you get but you could get their entire output illegally in a few hours! Until the industry give people what they want people will continue to take it anyway.

The only problem with this argument of course is that A. People up create the original file for download would edit the adverts out and B. even if they didn't the user would just skip past them.

Of course I know lots of people who won't watch live TV becasue of the adverts. They record it on PVRs and then skip past them! :-)
Apple - angering the fans? 4:30pm on 11 Jun 2009 I don't mind the fact that we have to pay off the contract. That is perfectly understandable. To an extent I don't mind having to pay for the phone, even if it is twice what it should be, but the thing that really disgusts me is the tethering charge, £15 is plain extortion and is obviously a cynical move to protect their mobile broadband products.
Problems for Sony PS3 firmware 3:20pm on 04 Jul 2008 Mine updated fine and no problems so far. I haven't tried RemotePlay since the update though. Is there supposed to be problems with it?
Google, privacy and Street View 2:58pm on 04 Jul 2008 I think anybody talking about 'privacy' when they are out in a public place is absurd! I, as others have said, would much rather have a photo of myself in Google Maps that I can see, laugh at and show family and friends than secretly recorded CCTV footage that I don't know about.

And I can't help but wonder what 'naughty' and 'exciting' things the people who are complaining are getting up to as they walk to the shops for a loaf of bread that they don't want the rest of us to see! Enquiring minds need to know. ;-)
BT iPlayer Homehub issues 09:41am on 28 May 2008 Well I'm with BT and I haven't had any problems with iPlayer or BT Broadband generally. I've always found them to be reliable.
What kind of net do we want? 09:32am on 25 Apr 2008 There is always a price for freedom and the chances of stumbling across a virus or other nasty is that price on the Internet. I would rather have 10 million viruses than 10 'Corporate Internets'.
