Pietersen & ECB fail the test 8:41pm on 08 Jan 2009 I'd call it a shambles but that's being unkind to other, professionally disorganised shambles around the world. FA please note.

Quite clearly ECB don't have a clue how to a) manage the people they employ and b) deal with the press. They are amateurs of the first order.

Also, if we take KP's resignation statement as factually accurate - "At no time, contrary to press speculation, have I released any unauthorised information to the media regarding my relationships with the players, coaches and the ECB itself" - then it would appear ECB "polled" the current England squad on the basis of newspaper speculation alone or worse, on an article they had approved.

What an un-holy mess. It's ECB so-called management that should resign and immediately.
