Seven sports seek Olympic love 1:26pm on 27 Mar 2009 You know the Olympics used to be about amateur ideals. Now it is full of professionals and dumb inclusions like Solo synchronised swimming!!!!! Rhythmic Gymnastics!!!!! what on earth do they have to do with Olympic ideals. Running Jumping and Throwing that should be it. Get it back to basics, track and field events only or who knows where it will stop. Possibly Bog Snorkelling and Cow Tipping will be next for consideration.
England's new dawn 10:30am on 16 Mar 2009 Brilliant! lets have more of that please. Always good to beat the French. Attacking play was brilliant and Strettle would have been good to have running against such a weak defence. Still a bit iffy out wide defensively in the second half and I am not convinced that he defence would still hold out against South Africa, but still a huge improvement from the Italy game.
A game of two cliches 09:05am on 09 Feb 2009 "a match in which no quarter was asked" It most certainly was not. Now France v Ireland on Saturday in the 6 nations, that was "a match in which no quarter was asked"
Oh and the "what a goal" comment from StJamesPark, of course it is a Cliché, is it referring to the actual Goal or the shot at Goal? IE "What a goal" Look at how it is painted and how neat the net has been hung, you see Cliché.
Festive Germans still prudent 11:59am on 08 Dec 2008 Ok as an Englishman living in Germany and apparently married to the German "Prudence" I can honestly say that the feeling here in general is "What Crisis"? Firms here are not going bust on a daily basis and the banks were not as badly hit as in the US or UK, but as I work in the shipping industry reading about all the other firms going to the wall makes me wonder about next year. I am however confused one moment I read about the possibility of "Deflation" now it will be Hyper inflation. Please economists make up your bloody minds, you are only adding to the confusion.

Phelps 100m away from matching Spitz's magnificent seven 11:28am on 15 Aug 2008 This swimming thing. So many world records by such huge margins. Phelps simply brilliant! and all the winners really deserve the victories but I have been saying the same thing as jamesmwood for days. has anybody actually measured the length of this pool? (apart form the Chinese)
