Why banks must be allowed to die 01:15am on 26 Jun 2009 this is a good piece that makes good sense.

I will always despise the banks, because they really do hammer the poor. When I get very ill I can't manage my money. The bank doesn't help by taking 3/4 of my disablity money before I even recieve it.

I have had to move banks and have the most basic cash card with no direct debits so that when I go through periods of being very ill, i will still be able to buy some food.

I have no sympathy for these people (im not talking about the guy who you pay money into, but the execs). They make money by moving numbers from account to account, and taking numbers from anyone who can't manage their own affairs.

I look forward to a future where the entire global monetry system is replaced by something of a different concept.

i have never had a nokia or iphone, being with the SE and Moto but one thing is clear

the iphone has had a coupla years for people to make applets, and the screen slides around in a more dramatic way, while the N97 has everything else

i dont wanna carry a video camera about, at the same time, dont want it to look like i filmed it on a 1940's technicolour then pirated it twice on video tape.

and for the argument "just buy a dedicated camera for the money" is like "just jump off a cliff if u can't sleep"
Should Lloyds pay a bonus? 03:15am on 07 Feb 2009 From a greedy bigwig point of view, they deserve a bonus. They managed to get billions from the government to boost the balance sheet, and it's time to crack open the champaign.

However, outside their office, millions of people, paying tax who are proping up this company and now many of those loosing their jobs (not being bailed out) and homes to be repossesd by the same company, it's simply unbelievable and I can't understand how they have the guts to announce this, be it shares, free holidays or whatever else.

The best thing these group of directors could do is make a joint statement saying

"we already earn plenty, we thank all the hardworking folk most earning a fraction of what we do, and have propped us up.

Our would-be bonuses will be donated in full to charities and voluntary organisations who are assisting people with financial troubles with immediate effect.

If they did that, people might actually believe for once these directors have a heart.
Are you paying too much for gas? 8:17pm on 12 Jan 2009 Having previously fell behind in gas payments i had a meter installed.

Since May 2008, I have spent over £750 on gas topups

however my recent bill i recieved showed that I had used £53.10 worth of gas

this is for myself and flatmate, both whom struggle with mental health problems. needless to say we had a cold few weeks, so much so our toothpaste was frozen into the tube.

The only help i was given for 'priority services' was that i could ask for my bill in braile. I am insulted that npower feel they have covered 'disabled and chronically sick' customers by offering a bill in braile.

npower argue that they will always leave me with 30% of my topups. This is true, until midnight when they take any remaining credit.

The debt was repaid in full over 3 weeks ago, but they are still charging me, and won't send an engineer, because these are 'meter charges'.

I ask how much these meter charges are, and they say they dont know, but the meter will correct itself when i have paid what i owe.

but because we are not elderly, we are ignored.
My Rights vs. Yours 06:55am on 02 May 2008 If someone can't do X, does it really matter if its chronic painfultis or a sprained finger in the sense of managing X?

I've seen people with depression bed ridden, will not even move to use the toilet. I've also seen people with "more severe" conditions run their own companies.
