In addition to what you say, not even 24 hours have elapsed since President BHO's
win had been announced and there is already (nuclear) sabre rattling in the Baltic. That is the first real major international impact of President BHO's win-not the hurrahs.

he is proving in the Presidential elections.

The dictionary definition of 'socialism' is"any of various economic and political theories
advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means
and production and distribution of goods."
It, like the term, 'capitalism' were merely labels attached to economic systems coined
by 19th century economic thought.

That was nearly two thousand years after
the advent of Jesus. So it is not correct to
call Jesus a 'socialist'. But, at every opportunity He stressed the importance of
loving God the Father and loving our
neighbor.

When He was asked, "who is my
neighbor?", he illustrated it with the parable
of the 'Good Samaritan'.

As you read it in Luke 10: 30-37, you realize that by "neighbor" is meant anyone who is in need of help (and to whom you are in a position to help). Jesus concludes by saying, "Go and do likewise". So Jesus's teaching-of love-was of a much greater (spiritual) dimension than the greatest teaching of any pundit or political leader.

drawbacks of (electing) Obama compared to McCain.

Not only that, at this critical juncture, the
experienced hand of a McCain is imperative.
A note of caution: while the election campaign at it's critical phase is focussed virtually on the economy, SECURITY ISSUE is
being relegated to the background at peril
for America as the recent Syrian incident
demonstrates, and it is all the more reason
why McCain should be elected to be the
Commander-in-Chief.

When Palin made her debut at the Republican convention she gave such a tantalizing performance that it silenced would-be critics within the Republican ranks as well as the Democrats.

So, the opponents tried to drive the wedge
between the seasoned McCain and Palin by praising her to the skies at the expense of
McCain, but it fizzled out. Although she
again did well at the Vice Presidential debate, they started harping on her ineffectual interview with the journalist before the debate, which could very well have been a 'red herring' by the Republicans to spring a surprise at her debate.

Again interested parties are trying to make out that all is not well between the two. It is ridiculous to talk about such things when both Mccain and Palin are so focussed on winning the elections.

I would recommend it most earnestly to all
U.S voters-I am from north of the U.S border-to know the hidden agenda, and the
'forked tongue' pretensions of contender(s) of patriotic McCain. The person who 'let the cat out of the bag' (maybe unwittingly) was no less a person than the Democrat VP nominee.

McCain is sitting pretty despite the defection from GOP of the former Secretary
of State to lend support to Democrat BHO.
If as McCain claims, he has the backing of
four former Secretaries and close upon 200
senior Retired Admirals and Generals-which
I have no reason to doubt-the impact of the backing from the former (GOP) Secretary for
BHO is no big deal, notwithstanding all the fanfare in the media.

One thing to be said in favor of Palin is that
she is anything but a bore. In fact she is a very interesting and by my reckoning,and one of the most clever persons who is a quick learner. Like how she proved
her mettle in Alaska as well as at the Republican Convention and the Vice Presidential debate, by the time Senator
McCain finishes his term as President-I don't
for a moment doubt that-or well before that she will be in fine fettle to run Presidential
affairs on her own.

Slowly, but steadily McCain has been nibbling away at the lead in which BHO basked, due to a headstart provided by the
perceived debacles of GWB administration,
mired as it was in retaliation to 9/11.

The opportunity to seize control of the situation from the Republicans was open to any viable Democrat-not necessarily BHO,
because he was special or anything of the sort more than other Democrats. But trite
slogans of BHO like 'change' and 'more of the same' seemed to resonate somewhat withthe frustrated voters.

It was quite a coincidence that the fuel crisis, the subprime mortgage crisis and the insolvency problems which have occurred shortly before the Presidential elections added fuel to the fire with the media waiting in the wings to fan it.

So while BHO and HRC were thriving in it,
the conservatives were struggling to put up
a viable maverick as a counterpoise. After
much infighting the most maverick of them
all, McCain, emerged at last to take on the mantle of rightist leader.
However, the very experienced McCain followed an independent line to the chagrin of the establishment GOP. While such a line brought him into conflict with members of his own party it saved him from the impact of vibes of Democrats.
To cut a long story short, he is sitting pretty
in the saddle so to say and is sure to edge
BHO out.
