Ashes hero Jones says hit the Aussies hard 1:31pm on 05 Jul 2009 jdwiskey must agree with you here. I was watching cricket writers on TV on sky this morning and then the announcement of the sqaud after and you have thought that this is the first time we have played australia at test cricket since 2005.

IMO it seems as if the people at the top of the table in english cricket have not moved on from a series that is 4 years old now.

We have got worse and have not progressed as a team since that period.
What do you think of the fixtures list? 2:12pm on 17 Jun 2009 The fixtures for west ham have actually worked out quite well, although from a selfish point of view i wish we didnt have such a big game on the 22 aug as im going to v that weekend.

Xmas and new year fixtures have worked out great and are all local games, which is great. and the last couple of the season are also local games.

Cant wait for the season now, really buzzing.
Bitter recriminations at the Bridge 09:31am on 07 May 2009 Although you have to feel a bit sorry for chelsea, the attitude of the a minority of chelsea players was a disgrace.

I see that everyone is knocking drogba (and rightly so because his reaction at the end, imo should mean he gets a 6 match from the champs league next season.

But how about ballack, trying to grab the ref as he demanded to know why he didnt give the last penalty appeal.

How about JT, who for some reason is the darling of the media, and his reaction and giving the ref a load of verbal abuse at the final whistle.

Yes at least 1 of thoses pens should have been given, but before people get on the ref's back, how about getting on drogba's case for missing a simple chance on 52 minutes that would have finished the game?
Filling for Britain at storm time 10:44am on 06 Apr 2009 Must say that i went off f1 for a hkber of years and only really looked out for te results and watched bits of the british & monaco GP and the brailian gp at the end of last year.

However i must say that this year maybe its because of the new rules were we are seeing more overtaking, or the excellent coverage from the bbc im starting to take more interest again in the sport
Harmison looks to recapture past glories 10:22am on 29 Jan 2009 This has been said many times in the past, but harminson is surely in the last chance saloon. If he plays he has got to take his chance, there can be no excuses this time. If he fails here or doesnt play then i think his test career will be over.

The more you look at those figures (thanks for the info Tom) the more worrying it gets. It does seem as if 2004 - 2005 are the exception to the rule. It also appears that harminson is just a bully agains teams who struggle against pace. The better teams like the aussies and s.africa have been able to cope against him very well and have made him look very ordinary at times.

Harminson does look disinterested at times and i would suggest that the only reason why we stick with him is because he can bowl at 90 mph
Who'd make your Ashes starting XI? 09:44am on 23 Dec 2008 To be honest apart from 1 seamer coming in for 1 of the spinners who have played here i dont think england will make any changes to the side especially in the batting line up. Look how long they stucj with strauss & collingwood during their poor runs, and look how long they stuck with harminson even though he had 1 good game in about 2 years. With regards to harmy i think he will play against the aussies. Why? Because kp wants him there and he will have had plenty of overs under his belt by the time of the first test. Monty, i also think will play. He does do well in england, most notably at ot, Why arent we playing there this year when you look at our recent record? Will vaughen come in? If he is selected for the WI tour then that will be his last chance, fail there and it will be over for him.
Capello on familiar battleground 6:15pm on 18 Nov 2008 IMO i think capello is right to do what he has done on several accounts.

1. England are currently on the crest of a wave and are winning game and he wants to keep that winning streak going.
2. We are playing germany. Remember the so called friendly against argentina a few years ago. What a great game that was, why cant this game be similar, so from that respect it is not just another friendly, although i do agree that most freidnlies these days are rather rubbish.
3. Also gerrard played a full 90 minutes the day before and before man utd played, so is rafa not just copying fergie so his best player doesnt play. Rafa if the injury was that bad why play him for a full 90 minutes?
Stanford parade raises serious concerns 1:45pm on 31 Oct 2008 Must agree with aggers on most points here, especially with the ones regarding mr standford. Why does he need his every move to be shown on the tv? Why did he have emily prior on his knee (although to be fair she could have refused) Why does he keep wanting to go in the dressing rooms?

I havent watched much of this 20/20 series, but from what ive read the facilities that have been laid on by someone as rich as him is very poor.
Farewell to a model professional 6:45pm on 22 Sep 2008 A fantastic player, who was my first cricketing hero and really got me into cricket properly as a youngester.

One of the best players that this country has ever produced in both forms of the game, he would surely have got 300 test wickets if he hadnt picked up so many injuries during his career.

Enjoy your retirement goughie, you deserve it, thanks for the good times.
England exploit SA failings 11:06am on 30 Aug 2008 I cant believe the turnaroun in englands fortunes in the od game, from where we were after playing nz. Great start for kp as skipper, and its also good to see every playing is contributing to the side and we are not just hoping one player is going to score runs or take wickets.

One downside though is ian bell. After playing brilliantly a 1st od hundred was there for the taking and yet again he blew it. For all of englands dominance in this series, we still do not score enough hundreds in this form of the game.
