It's a No. 12:44pm on 25 Sep 2008 True democracy is to in bring power nearer to the people. This is what devolved power is all about - DEMOCRACY!

What we have here are a bunch of English nationalists of Gwent who will allow the people of England to decide who runs Wales not the people of Wales. Remember the Thatcher years? Wales voted Labour, England voted Tory, and the tories ruled Wales as well.

The young people of Wales of the 1930's lost their lives fighting for democracy, in both Spain and during WW2.

These people are dangerous and anti democratic, which, in my book, reminds me of Franco, Hitler and the BNP. they should be kicked out of politics so as the rest of us can go on with our lives through the democratic process.

"True Wales" = NO RIGHT TO FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY.

Political Parties are simply PLC's in disguise. Would we expect anyone in the Labour party to say that Plaid, Tories or Lib Dem are good at something?

1:35pm on 09 May 2008 Many public bodies here in Wales totally ignore the act, because they allow non Welsh speaking staff to continue working as if they worked in a monolingual England, and simply take over.

Rhodri Glyn Thomas MUST look into all government run bodies in Wales and kick them where it hurts for not complying with our language act.

What is the point of this act when people, and the Anti Welsh amongst us are allowed to carry on as if the "Welsh Not" rule was still in force.

Buses used to have bilingual names (e.g.Ysbyty etc.) on the destination board, but English only is once again becoming prominent.
Numbers 1:11pm on 03 May 2008 If the results of this weeks elections are anything to go by for the next London elections, then we will see Wales being forced to have a government that they did not vote for.

The last time this occurred was when the Tories were in power, Wales then voted a Labour government and got the tories.

We the people of Wales should have a government by the party that the majority of the people of Wales voted for, not what the people of England or Scotland voted for.

Now, Mr Touhig, if you think that Labour can win the next London election, as you are now, I'm afraid your party is living in cuckooland. If you and your colleagues seriously want to keep your seat in any form of parliment next time, then the Labour party in Wales should campaign to allow us the people of Wales to have proper democracy to ensure that we have a full legislative governemnt chosen by the majority us the people of Wales.
Handbags, gladrags and pencils 1:22pm on 01 May 2008 One of the most serious issue that needs tackling in local government is the power of council officials. These people overturn decisions made through a democratic vote by elected councilors.

This undermines democracy, and any form of power like this should be removed from these people immediately.

Council officials are public servants, they are there to serve the people, to act upon the democratic wishes of the people represented by local councilors. Not to act on the wishes of other public servants be they from Cardiff or London.

There is only one word to describe anything that undermines democracy, and that is fascism.

Can we have our communities back from centralist rule please. Delegation of powers from the Unitary councils to our community and town councils would be an excellent start.
