Misfiring Australia consider their options 4:44pm on 23 Jul 2009 If i was australia i would bring in a seamer for north, it seems a bit harsh on him but you cant pick a team on who deserves to be there, but on the best team to win the match. I think there batting would be strong enough with haddin at 6, johnson at 7 and hauritz at 8, altho if lee was fit it would work even better for them.

While he looks fantastic when hes in, hes incredibly vulnerable to even a decent ball early on. The team selections recently aren't helping either, the national side has become a boys club with the same people playing regardless. To bring back collingwood straight away rather than giving someone like Shah a chance is pretty poor, and this kind of selection has made this Englad team very average over the last couple of years. There are good players out there in the county game but they will never get a chance under the current regime.
Controversy reigns on opening day 9:28pm on 18 Jul 2008 Pattinson is one of those joke selections you laugh about 10 years after it happens. Unfortunately we've got to wait those 10 years until our faces can flicker away from a grimace. The selectors almost managed to surpass theirselves however with the continued selection of ambrose, and his promotion to 6, the man just cant bat. On a brighter note i agree with earlier comments about James Anderson. Whether Aggers gives him enough credit is neither here nor there, but he has really grabbed his chance and become the bowler in our side you wouldn't drop and his batting really is underrated, as proved with yet another not out today. I don't know if we will win this test match or not, but despite a pretty dreary outlook on todays play it's far from over, especially as most of our wickets fell because of bad batting rather than exceptional bowling.
