Valero and Vieri: the future and the past 10:15pm on 26 Oct 2009 Is there nothing better to spend your time writing an article about? The main story in Europe this year is barca vs madrid. Yet no mention of the splendid performances barca are putting in so far this season and I expect more especially since the high profile transfers in the summer.
Ferdinand must sharpen up 00:15am on 11 Oct 2009 Ferdinand has always had lapses of concentration and his faults are highlighted in costing us goals in many games and I thought I was the only one seeing this until now.

Whether its failure to close down or ball watching he gets noticed for it frequently from me, you cant say the same about terry, even though I dont think he is athletic he always keeps at the top of his game (which does have weaknesses) and he has hardly cost us any goals in games and his superior positional sense and awareness go un-noticed. Having said that, If I had a player like johnson on one of my defensive flanks I would be nervous and might be partial to make mistakes.
Torres, Drogba or Rooney - who's the best? 1:39pm on 02 Oct 2009 For me its torres, if he has great players around him the game is already over coz he is that good. Rooney and drogba are winners and very good footballers but they can be wasteful sometimes and can lose a game for their team by being undisciplined.

For me theres few world class players around at the moment but torres is one of them. If you could chose 1 striker in the world you would have to pick him as you wouldnt want anyone else having him.
Brazil's Confederations Cup dilemma 6:30pm on 14 Jun 2009 Now that ronaldinho isnt as good as he once was I think dunga can balance the team a lot better than it has been in previous years. Ie elano is deeper in midfield and can pick a pass and unleash players like robinho and kaka.

Dont forget that brazil also have some great defensive talent like maicon, alves alex and lucio.

I expect them to win the Confederations cup.
Will Tevez row spoil Man Utd party? 9:14pm on 14 May 2009 I really hope united lose tevez and I also hope they would lose park and hargreaves (when he comes back) coz then their true weaknesses will be highlighted. First of all they have too many weak midfielders. eg scholes, carrick and fletcher.

Then the only good defenders they have are evra and vidic.

Plz fergie dont sign tevez and waste money on benzema (who isnt even proven at prem level) and is hardly setting the french team alight with his performances, then we will see you fail to retain the title next year.

Why Calzaghe deserves his place among the greats 3:17pm on 06 Feb 2009 I will never think of calzaghe as a boxing legend, without the kessler and lacy fight he would be the biggest paper champion of his time.

Even though he was 46-0, in his prime he should have risked fighting Jones Jr or BHop. But they didnt even respect him or they would have called him out in their prime, not at the end of their careers for a money making second-rate fight. I only hope most people dont become ignorant of this as proper boxers want to prove they are the best by beating the rivals at their peak.

However I dont think this was joe's fault, just his managers. And showboating in the Roy Jones Jr fight annoyed me.

I think joe will be forgotten worldwide just like nassem hamad was, hopefully the Hitman can go on for a bit longer and get another shot or at least give us some wars in the ring. As I thought he wasnt in peak condition against mayweather.
No carping about Kaka coup 7:20pm on 16 Jan 2009 First things first, city arent in the relegation battle. Although we are 14th we have shown with great displays from Ireland, robbie and SWP that we are capable of winning anyone when our players are up for it.

I thoroughly believe we are too good for relegation and if we had a defence as good as last seasons we would easily be challenging arsenal at the moment. I dont neccessarily think we may need a lot of big money signings this window. We need to work with players like sturridge, ireland, richards, onuaha, SWP and make them better to get the balance sorted.
Ferguson turns up derby heat 10:09pm on 28 Nov 2008 Im confident that we will do well (city fan here) as long as we play good football I couldnt care what the result is.

We are starting to pick up momentum, where as united are losing it.
Review of the week 5:10pm on 25 Nov 2008 Gave me a smile to think that robinho would get the bus like its just a normal thing for a footballer to do.

You never know maybe Ill see him on the 42 or 192 sometime soon.

Lords lunch proves unpalatable for Brooking 11:59pm on 20 Nov 2008 Nice blog mihir, but some blame must be heaped upon barwicks shoulders. Since he took charge, football in england has become more like a circus every year.
