Button deserves credit for rearguard fight 10:10pm on 27 Sep 2009 Button took his chances when he was in the best car on the grid, Barrichello, Vettel, and Webber have not done this and did not take advantage when the others arround them were struggling. Button however still got points nearly every race even though he was struggling, and has as mentioned in the article won as many races as recent champions the only difference being he did it in one clump of flawless driving. No-one else has had a spell of such flawless driving this season, yes the car helped in that respect but lets face it you cant win a championship without a good car these days (hence the Ferrari + McClaren domiance pre this year). Button has taken his chance's and fully deserves the position he finds himself in, and if he does win the championship he will be as worth winner as any that have gone before him, other drivers have made too many mistakes to deserve the championship Button has probably made the least (barring the likes of Alonso) so in my opinion would be more than a worthy winner!
Broad's Ashes spot no longer secure 09:08am on 04 Aug 2009 he seemed to be bowling the best of our bowlers yesterday, not that this will be taken into consideration for certain arguments. and asides from these Ashes tests he has been in good form, however i do think he'll take a lot of confidence from his work in the last match
Injuries take their toll on England's lionheart 5:49pm on 15 Jul 2009 I think Flintoff has made the right decision here both for himself and in a way for the England test side. im sure he'd be much happier being able to play as many ODI's and 2020 games as, instead of patches of the two and the odd test series. I say itd good for England in a way, obviously he will be a huge loss, but it will allow the test team to be more settled, without makeshift lineups considering how FLintoff will fit back into them on a regular basis. This said though i think it is a real shame, but as i have said Flintoff needs to do whats right for him, and seeing him appear regularly in the shorter formats is much better than the constant injuries!
Owen worth Man Utd gamble 10:49am on 03 Jul 2009 Considering what Owen can achieve when fit, and the fact he's a free agent i cant see the downside, as said both sides are set to gain something from this, even if it dosent work out.

Ultimately United need an extra couple of stikers, and Owen is a player with a great ability to score goals, when given good service, as long as he is not the only striker we sign this summer i will be over the moon with this deal!
My British Grand Prix predictions 10:04am on 20 Jun 2009 I have to say im stumped on the outcome it should be a usual top 8 that we have seen for the season, but the order is hiding from me. Would be great for Button to win at Silverstone, incase this is the last F1 here (Fota + FIA situation aside) to have a final Brit winner. But with the 2 Red Bulls, and Ruebens as well, anyone could win out of those 4 i'd say! which is great i want a good race more than anything!
Secrets of the fixture computer 10:57pm on 15 Jun 2009 its a facinating procedure, i had no idea it was so complicated, i had never considered some of the logistical problems they aim to avoid when making the fixture lists, other than the obvious ones like derby games, other major events, etc. good insight, yet i feel few will remeber this when the fixtures come around during the season!
England left to absorb shocking defeat 11:12am on 06 Jun 2009 i feel sorry for Stuart Broad, he did most things right in that last over, and could have won the game if he'd got the direct hit so i will lay no blame on his shoulders, the blame should rest on the middle order batsmen, most notably Shah and Morgan, who should have scored the extra runs we required, Shah more-so than anyone as he was one of the more senior one day players! Though all credit to the Netherlands!
Brilliant Barcelona outclass Man Utd 5:29pm on 28 May 2009 I get the feeling that this was just meant to be Barcelona's year, the way they kept the ball last night was magnificent, and i would put some blame on United's perfomance after conceding the first goal, we should have shown more fight but this should take nothing away from Barcelona. THough on annother day the result could have easily been the other way around, both of these sides are very good but as i said this was a night for Barcelona, they just played better!

As for united, I expect them to coe back stronger with just as much desire and strength as ever next year, this team is developing nicely, nice mix of experience!
No excuses for Newcastle 11:55am on 25 May 2009 Poor Management of the club from the supporters and chairman have been the downfall of Newcastle. The choice of Keegan by Ahsley was a mistake, yet he was forced into theis decision by the supporters of the club, as he was one of only a few managers that they'd be happy to have.

Had both the management and fans been happy with the slow build from Sam Allardyce when he was in charge they'd have not only been safe this year but would have been advancing up the leauge slowly, but its easier to build from there not the Championship.

I have sympathy for the more patient Newcastle fans, and indeed Shearer and Kinnear who got a rather raw and impossible deal. Yet to the rest of the club management, and biggest the fans I have no sympathy for i beleive their impatence for success has been the downfall of their once "big" club!
My alternative review of the season 1:38pm on 15 May 2009 Interestingly different, quite enjoyable, and a different take nice fresh opinions is nice to see rather than the same old writers on here. Nice article!
