what is Digital Revolution (working title) all about? 12:48pm on 08 Sep 2009 Hi

I'm a blogger and have written a bit about my history with the web, which goes back 15 years or so now :/

I first met it in a specialised medical library in Sydney. I was editing an HIV/AIDS magazine and sourced content from largely US scientific publications which came delayed by three months off the boat.

The librarian there showed me this new thing, the internet, and specifically a service called AEGiS and I was literally bowled over by this new, immediate, rich source of information. That's the exact moment my world changed.

Australia's underwhelming capital 03:52am on 11 May 2009 I quite liked it during visits - the National Gallery is fantastic - but one thing pointed out to me was very odd. Away from the central area, shops and shopping strips hidden away; 'designed out' from public view. There's something terribly bourgeois about that.
Digital Britain - who foots the bill? 11:41am on 20 Apr 2009 There was a great comment towards the end from the BBC lady - paraphrasing 'never mind the pipes, where's the poetry?'

Other countries - i.e. the USA - seem to have built huge new 'digital' industries whilst still having enormous swathes of the country without broadband. Mobile innovation is coming out of Africa.

When the event's focus wasn't on pipes the 'debate' was dire because of who was speaking. No wonder Stephen Fry was bored. The true creatives were asking questions from the floor.

2. If criminality is an issue why aren't the police funded to do the job?

Worst of days 2:38pm on 08 Feb 2009 I guess you've yet to experience one in Sydney but I tell you Nick, it is something other worldly to be standing in Surry Hills with smoke and embers and bits of burnt vegetation in the air and the sky red. This was the 1994 fires.

This is an amazing call to 3AW by a woman trapped in a house with eight others - 'happy' ending. Her 'legend' young brother saves them.
