Bad-tempered Woods riled by rules row 7:43pm on 12 Aug 2009 Tiger Woods has come out of this situatuion with an enhanced reputation -in my opinion. The same unfortunately cannot be said of John Paramor (the Official involved).Let's hope the time has NOT arrived when golf officials "influence" the game the way referees can "influence" soccer matches.
Who's the greatest? 5:16pm on 13 Jul 2009 Tiger will not win The Open.I hope Padraig Harrington makes the cut.Possible winners could be Kaymer,Poulter even Casey.I trust that Darren Clarke has a return to form and like P.H. makes the cut.There is time for Rory McIlroy to achieve greatness.How's that for an exiled Irishman?
The fallout from Setanta's collapse 9:17pm on 26 Jun 2009 Like many other exiles I have been "getting" my soccer coverage from both FSC and Setanta.Now that ESPN have obtained Setanta's allocation I fear for the quality from that source.Sentanta had it's faults as has FSC (too much talk) but ESPN can be driven by commercial concerns ONLY.I trust my fears will not be justified.
Masters memories 4:41pm on 13 Apr 2009 I love the comment about the three fatties.Really choice. The "interlude" showing Ken Brown or whoever is there to cover the commercials of the network broadcast (CBS).I have experienced both versions (being an exile) I can assure you the UK one is the easier to "endure".The broadcast format is STRICTLY controlled by the board of the Augusta National Golf Club. Do as they say --OR ELSE!!!
Cabrera's tenacity makes the difference 4:23pm on 13 Apr 2009 Yes I am glad that Senor Cabrera won.Like others I am disturbed by the American medias' fascination of Tiger Woods.Mention is made of Kenny Perry's "collapse" on the 17th and 18th holes -- who else BOGIED those holes -- the icon TIGER WOODS.Kenny Perry came out of the tournament with a huge amount of dignity and sportsmanship.he deserves a lot of credit for his post tournament comments and behaviour. However USA only likes or praises winners!!! The media over here in general do not appear to like the truth or an honest opinion they have turned on Sergio's comments about the course almost to a man.He is now accused of being "petulant" when all he is doing is expressing his opinion,albeit a minority one,about a course which is "tricked up".I hope some of the European press come to his defense.

Comparing China and Cuba 4:45pm on 18 Nov 2008 Can anyone please explain ANY justification in the embargo that the U.S. continues to lead against Cuba.What THREAT does tiny Cuba pose towards the U.S.? Is America so insecure? Surely the example of "drawing in " China to the "capitalist" world shows how to influence people and hopefully make "friends" of potential "enemies".
Tottenham go back to basics 4:13pm on 26 Oct 2008 It will be difficult initially for H.R. at the lane but I believe he will succeed in the first task of securing a place in the Premier league. His real problems though will be longer term -- fulfilling the aspirations (realistic or otherwise) of Spurs fans AND the controlling board. It may need a stronger and younger man in the long term.I wish him well.
Louisville Lip (part three) 6:14pm on 19 Sep 2008 Azinger's reported comments re "cheering" the Europeans' missed putts is way way out of line.The European press should jump all over him at the next press conference.That way it may not develope into another "war in Kiawah" IF he then apologises!!! (Some chance-eh?).
