Liverpool top, but for how long? 12:07pm on 02 Dec 2008 If you can beat the big teams around you that are competing for the top of the table, it is not that much of a problem that all the games against teams 'parking the bus' don't turn out to be victories.
Liverpool had an excellent run of nabbing games at the beginning of the season, which goes a long way to fulfilling the quota needed to be near the top come May.
They are ahead of everyone this season regardless. All the Big 4 have had suprise results this season and that is sure not to have finished.
Bolt reignites 100m interest 4:17pm on 18 Aug 2008 Bolt is a phenomenon not seen in sprinting. I don't think he had a 'Bubka' moment on Saturday. He has the record. He didn't have a gold medal. 100m runners earn the most anyway.
Facts are though that it is incredibly hard to control speed over 100m and at anyway at 21 he has time to do smash it properly.
I agree with you Mihir, it's great to see the Olympics regain some focus on the blue ribbon event. I was blown away.It's all about Bolt now. Forget Gay and Powell. He is miles ahead. I am suprised people think he would run 9.6. I think 9.5's are closer. No one will touch him for some time now. Bring on the 200m record!

He is a phenomenon unseen in the history of the sport.
Barry saga leaving a sour taste 4:09pm on 04 Jul 2008 Completely agree, Benitez did himself no favours by trying to get Barry for next to nothing earlier on. I think what is really driving O'Neill though is the hope he will stay and allow Villa to continue on the progress last year. There are a lot of teams trying to break the big four, and the teams that can keep their player base together are going to be the ones with a better chance of breaking through. You don't see the top four selling their player base (well, not yet with Ronaldo!)
