Baby Peter and the uncertainty principle 2:08pm on 20 Aug 2009 I see that this evil trio are appealing their sentences. It is right that they should do so. The appeal judges can set sentences to fit the crime. That is life meaning life with no possibilty of parole
Alan Duncan apology 5:25pm on 12 Aug 2009 Alan Duncan is an idiot. I work longer hours than he does, get 23 days holiday + public holidays, get paid £16000 per year from which I have to pay NI and tax, cost of travel to work daily, mortgage, food, council tax, water rates, electricity, gas, gardener!!, car tax, dentistry, spectacles, prescriptions in fact everything. No expenses to be claimed from the public purse, no time for second jobs while I scive from my main job. I challenge Mr Duncan to exist on this incomes and nothing more.
Children in detention at Yarl's Wood 3:04pm on 01 May 2009 This is disgraceful and shows that certain police officers are no more than criminal thugs in uniform; regardless of the rights or wrongs of these families being in the country, this sort of behaviour by police is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated in a civilised country; any officers involved should be dismissed without compensation.
Fritzl trial and Austria 9:45pm on 21 Mar 2009 A truly awful story; this man knew what he was doing and was/is not mentally ill so should have been locked up in a prison not a mental hospital for life - meaning that he should die in prison

(1) 2:38pm on 09 Feb 2009 The amount of data stored unnecessarily by Big Brother (the government, police etc) has reached epidemic proportions; I for one do not trust the authorities not to lose the data given their track record; I never volunteer information and believe that individuals should be able to insist that information is deleted from records; we should also be able to sue any government employee who loses data.
On the naughty step again 1:38pm on 06 Oct 2008 There are some great kids out there and they are probably in the majority, but there are also large numbers of out of contral nasty feral youths whose main enjoyment is causing pain fear or dismay to others in the knowledge that the criminal justice system will not do anything to them. The feral kids often come from single mother families, caused by Blair and Brown choosing to support single parent families at the expense of families with fathers! The culture derives from young girls who fall pregnant to get a free council house; these families have no people working and are entirely on benefits. the children dont attend school or if they do they just disrupt it. The system causes the problem.
