The Government and RBS Board must realise you don't have to be a mega brain to lose money and go bust... I've been doing it for years but no-one has yet bailed me out or paid me millions...

If RBS is a success it won't be anything to do with Hester, it will be the minions working their butts off whilst he works his putts off on the Golf course. Pathetic.

It seems it's not good enough for us but wherever we (ie Her Maj's Govt) impose a democratic process we impose proportional representation.

Stop sneering and have a proper look at the subject.

The One Show, at best a pale imitation of "Tonight" at worst a ball of slimy putty to fill the gap between the news and Eastenders as cheaply as possible - except, of course, for Mr Child's salary...

After all - AND THIS IS NOT GIVEN ENOUGH AIRING ON THE NEWS - Andrew Sachs' granddaughter is an erotic dancer in a group called Satanic Sluts Extreme - so she's fair game...

I don't believe a tenth of the people who complained actually heard the programme, so they should be ignored...

The time to sack Brand and Ross is when they stop offending people - we're all becoming a tad too touchy in this PR-obsessed world.
Great book - shame about the screenplay? 5:17pm on 04 Sep 2008 The fact is that (especially in the UK) it is virtually impossible to get a script read UNLESS it is based on a published book.

Such is the state of the people who run our film industry that no one appears to have an opinion or will take any risks - thus they can always say "Well, the book was successful...."

Don't blame the writers - there are many of us trying to get interesting and new ideas made into films but we meet brick walls unless we can say "Based on the book by....".

Balance is an "overall" concept rather than having to be balaned within each programme - and as the overwhelming propaganda is on the side of the Climate Change lobby it is hardly damaging to point out the other side of the story. I don't remember OFCOM complaining about "An Inconvenient Truth" equally riddled with bias and bad science...
What could Gordon do to turn it around? 1:21pm on 25 Jun 2008 Do to city traders what Margaret Thatcher did to the Unions - BRING THEM TO HEEL. Stop futures traders forcing up the prices of oil and wheat (according to reports at least 30% of the increase in oil is down to futures traders) - make banks responsible - windfall taxes on banks and oil companies and use the money to cut price the of oil, gas and electricity... That would be a start - the Conservatives won't do it.
