Scientists v Politicians: Round 3 1:38pm on 29 Oct 2009 Interesting that despite all the warnings from experts & scientists, Mr Blair went ahead with the 24h drinking law.
Now how abour making alcohol a class C drug, as far as I am concerned it causes far more damages to public health than any other drugs, excepting tobacco another drug turned into a legalised "fiscal" drug.
Map of the Week: Forgotten white working classes 11:23am on 29 Oct 2009 please stop using this term: "white"working class, it is racially insulting. Please use the term Caucasian European working class

Do you speak Race? 11:21am on 29 Oct 2009 I find calling people white offensive and somehow pejorative. Worst of all being the "white" working class term, I would prefer caucasian European.

Map of the Week: Forgotten white working classes 12:38pm on 20 Oct 2009 Uncontrolled immigration, positive discrimination, economic downturn and increasing pressure for work and benefits, leaving a country almost bankrupt and a Society filled with ethnic and social tensions, whilst struggling to maintain a well equipped Army.
I am not talking about Britain today, I am describing the state of the Roman Empire before its collapse, plunging Europe into the dark ages.

Asset sale: Deja vu? 1:05pm on 12 Oct 2009 To me, it seems that our former chancellor of the exchequer and now self nominated Prime Minister has been busy banrupting the country and now is going to the pawn shop selling whatever assets this country has.
It is not a pretty sight for a great country like Britain to have to sell good assets at the worst economic times, it is really a last resort action and in itself is a clear sign that Labour economic policies over the last 10 years have been careless.

If the Car Industry is to survive, it has to become not only competitive but also contribute towards the green policies of our Government.
The history of homicide 11:44am on 19 Dec 2008 We are arguing about how murders and suspicious deaths are statiscally recorded.
The point that all of the comments are missing is that the general population feels under siege and threatened.
There is little point saying that crime is at an all time low, when you have reports of crime on TV and newspaper everyday.
Secondly, what has changed a lot in the last 50 years is the amount of gruesome details, now made available to the general public during the course of a criminal nvestigation
This is obviously shocking public opinion.
I and many will agree, that we need to see criminals harshly punished so that the public feels justice is done, whilst being a deterrent.
There is also something that most have ignored so far is that the Police numbers might be up however there is very little sightings of the police in the streets or any neighbourhoods, other than the occasional patrol car, leaving the population feeling under protected.

Media, politicians and very rich, are trying to scare us when in fact there is little to be scared of if your exposure to the market is limited.

let the banks go bust, our money / deposits are guarranteed by the State.

Nothing! for 10 years Northsea oil and gas has been squandered for the profit of the treasury coffins.
