First audience figures in for Euro 2008 7:48pm on 14 Jun 2008 Hi Roger,
I think the BBC and ITV have done well.
BBC have done well by sending the team to Vienna and having a studio based in 1 place like they did 2 years ago in Berlin rather then having the team flung across the countries.
ITV have done a good thing by having them based in the UK in a studio (Saves Steve Rider travelling across the world to cover Football and F1!)
However that studio they use looks like one of the Local News studios and the one that they use for the Japanese and Chinese GP's(to save Rider all the hassle of travelling for the Champs League Football and F1!)
I hope that the BBC and ITV can fight UEFA and FIFA from selling major tournaments to pay-per-view broadcasters such as Sky and Setanta. (Hope our Government makes one right decision!)
However one small silly flaw in the BBC's coverage, Jonathan Pearce asking Fabio Capello stupid questions.
Also Roger, may I ask one question : Is this John Motson's last tournament as BBC Commentator?
Everey year, the media says it is but can you tell us if it is?
But overall, brilliant coverage however that will be all lost when ITV gets the England contract
(Cant wait for the BBCs 2010 and 2014 WC, Euro 2012 Coverage and coverage of the Olympics, F1, Football League and Wimbledon!)
Don't worry, KP, 50-over matches are here for a while... 7:02pm on 14 Jun 2008 I dont agree with the 1st Poster.
The only reason wny the 2007 World Cup was so awful was because the ticket prices were far too high and fans werent wanting to fly across the world to see the WC stretched over 2 months.
The 20/20 WC was far too quick and too many games were played in 1 day.
As I can see, 20/20 is good for the game but 50 over games are longer and can bring some suprises like the blogger pointed out.
50 Over cricket isnt dead and is not far from being killed off.

Even Aggers would shudder to see any wicketkeeper chop and change!
Chris Read is Nottinghamshire Captain - hence the reason why he isnt chosen.
You wouldnt pull the captain out of any county,..not fair.
I think Aggers would back my view - keep the current team....same team for 5 tests since 1885.
Even Australia cant say that!!!!!!
Inside Sport: the third run 01:11am on 23 May 2008 Fine show, but is on far too late.
Why isnt it on after the BBC 10 O clock news?
It shouldnt be bumped around.
Plus I would like to see a few Inside Sport special debate programmes like programmes on the top issues, like the Home Nations Qualification failure to Euro 2008 would have been a good one.
Also, Mihir Bose should be given more segments to the show as his investigations have been good.
But to make it interesting, Gabby should do a small segment and do training of a sport for a few days then take a professional of the sport.
That could be a good addition, its INSIDE SPORT, amke sure that its still deserves that title.
From Russia with love 12:21pm on 21 May 2008 Again, our press critise a great City like Moscow, yet why havent the press critise Manchester for allowing the big screens to fail on a major occasion while there was no engineers to fix it.
Also, whats with the bickering of the pitch as well.
Might as well allowed them to keep the plastic one and let them play on it.
WHY cant footballers play on plastic, they get paid thousands a week!.
The Luzinki Stadium looks great on tv, and probably Moscow is ready.
Wait for Euro 2010, thats when we will see our press again critise Poland and the Ukraine.

However, a press didnt have a dig at Serbia for having the Eurovision!

Sky own the rights to the Scottish Cup, how about getting Sky?
Also England Vs USA will be on because they have the rights to it.
You are like many people, who moan for no apparent reason at the BBC for something they cannot control.
Sky are strong and have bidded more than the BBC could afford.
But we know there wont be any Scottish/English domestic cup/international football next season, so quit moaning and get Sky.

ITV WILL definately show Manchester United.
Well done BBC for not showing Man Utd when we didnt want them on.
Now next seasons FA Cup and England games are going to be a write off :@.

MOTD viewing figures on the up 12:40pm on 13 May 2008 You know the reason why viewing figures are on the up Mr Mosey!
Its because people like the Match of the Day name, you know people will be fixated to Match of the Day because of his history and that we are better informed from each game then before.
You know that either Gary, Gabby or Adrian will put out a point and it will be covered.
Changes to our new look 7:37pm on 03 May 2008 I like the new look, its very good.
Lets hope that the BBC Sport website comes into line with the BBC Homepage by allowing us to shift whatever we think as important sport around the page, like the homepage.
I dont agree that Football should dominate the main headlines if major sports such as Rugby or Motorsport are on.
A Premier League photo finish 9:51pm on 02 May 2008 Lets hope that the relegated teams, midtable teams and Arsenal and Liverpool are at the end and the relegation threatened teams and title favourites are on first.
Thats what MOTD needs to do.
But because the relegation battle is so severe, that is the top priority and so should be on 1st.
