Olympic overdose? 4:59pm on 08 Aug 2008 I know the Olympics are a big deal for a lot of people, and hence deserve some cover, but you're covering it all day already. There are far more important things going on in the world, so whilst I don't mind a quick mention (in the same way the news covers other major international events like Wimbledon, a European or World cup ball game and so on), I am disgusted that you would drop an item like Ossetia.

Think about it - in a years time, how many people are going to care about the current Olympics? And how many will still be suffering from the impact of an invasion in Ossetia?

This is the sort of failure to focus on what is important in the world that is killing the BBCs reputation as a leader in the news.

I will no longer be watching BBC news until someone can tell me you've regained a proper sense of what is important to your viewers.
Did Mary Whitehouse have a point? 09:39am on 29 May 2008 The TV she complained about is a symptom, not a cause.

TV in a free country reflects the way a society is behaving, it does not lead it. If TV caused the problems we are seeing, then why are countries that censor or control their TV have exactly the same problems that we do?
