THE BOGGINS SITUATION 3:34pm on 21 Nov 2009 This isn't a family program so it doesn't need a family pet. There is a fine line between cool and cutesy - yes there really is. This dog is on the wrong side of the line.
Find some way to lose this animal, the kindest way would be some form of ethereal evaporation. Maybe as a participant on I'm a Celebrity Cook Me.

It's Ok to make mistakes, just deal with it and move on.

The changing face of the British high street? 09:40am on 27 Nov 2008 There's the old Post Office adage "use it or lose it". Woolies became outdated, done for by a plethora of pound shops and the Tesco-isation of the nation.
Those of us of a certain age remember the wooden floored Woolies of the 1950's where island counters had their own tills and they tested light bulbs before you bought them. That was long, long ago.
Out of date - out of time. (The Post Office sounds a bit like that doesn't it?)

It's quite something for a former member of the government to come out for the opposition. You can imagine a similar hooha if one of Clinton's executive team declared for McCain/Palin, but they haven't - yet.

Powell is far from being 'one of millions' of voters. He is one in a million, a good judge of character and one who's word is trusted - apart from the time when he was shamefully misled into making false declarations about WMD for GWB.

I seem to remember way back in the late 70's or early 80's the govt had a two year VAT holiday on home improvement. I think every house in Hebden Bridge [did anybody live anywhere else at the time?] had something done.
This is done by small bank loans to home owners and gives work to the otherwise idle building trade.
[Yes there's a lot of this type of work done on the black economy but they are not all cowboys.]

If you can't move then improve and keep the general housing stock in good repair.

I saw Justin's BBC report last night on the McCain/Palin show in the midwest. It would seem that a big fear in the USA is, dare I say the 's' word (will I be moderated?), socialism.

It appears that it comes from Europe and it's bad, really bad.

Perhaps some US citizen might explain to a British subject what's so really bad about socialism.
Mind-boggling contempt for Bush 09:15am on 26 Sep 2008 What this episode shows is the importance of electing the right man to the White House. Elections do matter, the result can and does change history.

It cannot have passed unnoticed that, on the day when the President of the USA is engaged in vitriolic bickering on the future of the entire fabric of the western economy, the Peoples Republic of China launch their first manned space mission.

Find out how much your road tax will be.. 10:02am on 27 May 2008 I'm a bit floored to see that I'll be paying £200 road tax in 2010. My car's a 1991 Golf Mk2, it's done 40,400 miles. I do about 2,500 miles a year. I'd use a bus if they were any good but I reckon there has been no improvement in the quality of a bus ride in my lifetime - 60 years. They are bumpy, noisy, dirty and driven by underpaid discontented people who often take out their understandable frustration on their passengers.
Looks like the bus pass is going to win with a hire car for holidays ...... Oh, hang on! What do I do about my business? How am I going to get cardboard to recycling? What about those trips to the tip that the council would charge if they collected?
I don't want to fork out 3.5K for another car...
Looks like it's going to be £200 car tax.
