What the gentle reader is saying is what many, many Americans are feeling now: We made a pact with the devil in Obama. Obama's handlers knew America was tired of the Bush era, the wars, the fear of terrorism, Gitmo. His handlers carefully tested focus groups to find buzz words that would resonate with the electorate. "Change" came up the winner. So the Obama campaign motto became "Change you can believe in". The (patently) liberal media all gleefully touted Obama as the second coming of Christ, ignored his background, failed to investigate his political beliefs, never challenged him on anything he promised, and simply took it upon themselves to get Obama elected.
Mr. 3toe bandito most likely read up and voted last year. What motivates him and many others now is that Obama has a kind of dictatorship going now. His party controls the Congress (until 2010) and the White House. Until then, they can cram down our throats any wild liberal scheme they come up with, and that scares the average American.
Pick any topic. Obama comes down on the wrong side in the opinion of most Americans. He may be the darling of Europe and homosexuals and enviromentalists, but we in the US are learning he is not the man for the job here in the US. He has shown himself to be untrustworthy and disengeneous. His hidden agendas are starting to surface and are scaring the heck out of flyover America.
Obama is the 2009 version of Jimmy Carter: People felt good voting for Obama just as they felt good voting for Carter after the Nixon years. But Carter wasn't up to the job, and neither is Obama.
I have $100 here that says Obama will be looking for work in 2013, going back to the very heart of democrat corruption that is Chicago.
More philosophical question about torture 1:52pm on 28 Apr 2009 Isn't there an assumption built into the Conventions on military behavior and treatment of prisoners? Isn't there an assumption that all sides to a conflict will adhere to the Conventions? Is a country really supposed to abide by the Conventions when the adversary ignores them? If the adversary routinely tortures to death any enemies they catch, for amusement and shock value or for any other reason, is the opponent really supposed to nevertheless abide by the strict Conventions?
If one side routinely targets civilians and combatants for murder and mutilation do we really have to treat the killers as honorable soldiers?
There is a basic illogic to this!
We are not fighting a conventional war against radical Islam. It is a war without conventional rules. Our enemy does not wear a distinctive uniform. Our enemy does not abide by ANY Conventions of appropriate behavior in war. Our enemy does not respect the rights of civilians. Our enemy does not avoid needless destruction of civilian property. Quite the reverse.
The America haters here are being disingenuous. They hate America for its freedom and prosperity and liberty and a million other things. Bush was not a hand-wringing apologist for America's greatness or willing to bow down to the EU god. So he, as the visible symbol of America, is likewise hated. Obama, of course, in no way symbolizes America and will thus be adored by the world.
This despite the decision by Obama and Clinton to shoot dead those 3 poor ship liberators off the coast of Somalia. Had Bush been the one to order their deaths, the whole world would be screaming for murder charges. Right? The deceased pirates would be called economic opportunists with the "right" to earn a living since big bad America was the true culprit for the plight of the pirates in the first place. Right?
No one seems to remember that Obama was THE most liberal member of Congress. His track record is hyper liberal. His true beliefs are slowly seeping out. With the support of the liberal Congress that he now enjoys, there is no check on him. That scares me. And as he shows his true colors and moves America away from its role as the world's policman, the villians will become emboldened. This should scare everyone. Pakistan may be the first test for him. Pakistan is teetering. There is no Geneva Convention to allow America or anyone else to intervene to stop the Taliban. Should the world just stand by and let the Taliban overrun Pakistan and seize its nuclear weapons? And, who but America has the ability to intervene?
These are not neat philosophical questions. These are realities that translate into dirty bombs on the London tube or NYC subway.
We are in a knife fight; THERE ARE NO RULES IN A KNIFE FIGHT!
What victory would mean 2:14pm on 04 Nov 2008 Obama, Pelosi, and Reed will likely have total control for the next two years if not four. All 3 are wild-eyed liberals. If they crash the economy and aggravate the class war Obama started with his "spread the wealth around" comments, and Obama defaults on our treaty commitments to endangered governments around the world, the US and the world will be much much worse off in a few years.

The liberal media simply ignores any information negative to Obama; it's as simple as that. Non-partisan examination of media coverage of the candidates is clear.
Aren't you a little queasy that the vast majority of all these new voters get their political knowledge from MTV and the Daily Show?

Nervous final days 11:06pm on 01 Nov 2008 Well, we'll see if America is better off in 4 years than it is today. Obama has promised everything to everyone, unless of course you are earning over $250,000 in which case you are demonized by Obama as stingy. As though working hard enough to earn that kind of money is a bad thing to be punished. I actually saw a vid of a black woman at his rally saying now she won't have to worry about paying for petrol or electricity anymore; the Messiah will have those rich people pay for it.
Shame, shame, shame on the press, BBC included, for glossing over all the warning signs about Obama. Radical friends, illegal alien aunt, massive vote fraud by his fav community action group. Sleazy political beginnings, on and on. All swept under the rug by the big media.
A lot of America's enemies hate our country, not just Bush. They'll learn soon enough that Obama is a patsy and will run from a fight. All the free world should be very worried. The tough older brother just quit protecting you.
Bad losers and bad finishers 1:44pm on 31 Oct 2008 For me it is all about the negatives. Which candidate's negatives are the most dangerous? Obama's background is full of marxist "redistribute the wealth to achieve social justice" beliefs. He has done his best, with the mainstream media assisting, to hide and distort his background. Obama is promising whatever appeals to the most voters. We won't know his real agenda until he gets in office, if he does.
Even more worrisome is him having a solid democrat Congress. Whatever marxist policies he wants, they will rubberstamp!
America doesn't need radical leftist remodelling; England, France, Italy are enough. Look what good it brought them.
