Have you seen a polecat? 09:36am on 27 May 2009 Polecat sighting.... Guess where?.....On the Lake Vyrnwy Dam!

OK - it was a couple of years ago, evening, my wife was sitting on the bench at the end of the dam when a polecat suddenly appeared and went trotting (do Polecats trot?) across the dam to the other side.

Was it a Polecat? Well, she is very good at identifying wild animals and the Polecat face mask is very distinctive.

So, are there Polecats in Wales? Yes.

But the really important question is - "Why did the Polecat cross the dam?"

Answers on the back of a £20 note to me please.

PS - I live 300m from the dam.

It could have been any of the Chinese Zodiac signs: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Hare, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Boar.

After all, astrology, which is a pseudoscience claiming divination by the positions of the planets and sun and moon, doesn't actually work - bit like this cartoon.

Never mind eh? Better luck next time for the London - read British - games - maybe Mickey Mouse?
Comments on changes 11:29am on 28 Apr 2008 As the revamp of the BBC News outlets has been a resounding failure, please may I have some of my Licence Fee back in compensation for the loss of my bit of the half a million pounds the BBC squandered on this mis-judged makeover?

BTW - what's happened to the preview facility on this blog?

Spot the similarity with the new BBC News web site!

Only real difference is that the main text colour is black - and much more readable than the wishy-washy, turn your screen contrast up, get a headache trying to read BBC text.

Hope you didn't pay half a million quid to the people who designed the Reuters UK site...

Comments on changes 3:33pm on 22 Apr 2008 Please re-brand BBC Wales as BBC Cardiff - after all most of the news reports seem to come from there with the rest of Wales ignored.

Shame you didn't spend the half-million or so pounds of license fee money on buying your BBC Wales people a camera and a push bike to cover the rest of Wales - oh! and a map of Wales of course - but only after counseling to prepare them for the news that there is more to Wales than Cardiff and Torchwood.

And, are you after another increase in the license fee to pay for your self-interested, ego-massaging, 'we know what's best for you' philosophy?

Methinks that now is the right time for the BBC to reduce or stop its outlay on pointless projects like this, or haven't you heard that your license fee payers are struggling to pay for food, housing and fuel?

It was the longest 14 minutes (could not stand anymore) of mindless self-congratulating unfunny silly sound effect filled drivel I have ever listened to.

I am having difficulty understanding how the BBC can spend license fee money on producing such nauseatingly embarrassing drivel.

It's back to The Andrew Marr Show for me; I just hope you enjoyed your BBC license fee paid for champagne party.
New ways into blogs 10:59am on 18 Apr 2008 Re: *Syds_Sports and embedded video.

Just tried the embedded video in my FF and it's working fine - I'm using v2.0.0.13.

BTW - the very small typeface that sometimes appeared alongside images etc seems to have gone - methinks that maybe, just maybe, they have employed a proper programmer to sort the site out.

I still have problems with the light typefaces, too much white space and the wishy-washy couldn't care less appearance of the site.

When will they learn that the overall appearance of the site is an indication of the site's authority.

Put simply, strong, clear and simple graphics, typefaces and design suggests authority and trustworthiness.

Thought the idea was to NOT read them until approved.
