Six to watch in 2009 00:44am on 05 Jan 2009 I hope Shah is the player to watch. I have always been a fan of his as i believe he has the temperment to handle the aussies. Players like Swann, Prior and Bopara don't have the bottle to compete against them.
Could Wenger shape new England? 4:46pm on 12 Nov 2008 Sorry i didn't have time to read the article i'm just commenting on the title. How on earth will Wenger shape the England team when he has only 1 England player in his starting 11 and he wasn't even a player they bought up through their academy. Players such as Hoyte, Traore and Bentley are examples of what happens to these players once they make the step up into the first team. Wiltshere looks like the exception to this rule but the other promising players in the team that played last night vela and ramsey are not even English.
Kissing in the wind 00:06am on 31 Oct 2008 Good points Pandy187. I don't see how this becomes an issue when a united player does it. The kissing of the badge is supposed to show layalty and genuine love for the club. Man Utd have given Rooney the chance to show his ability to the world. He has since won about every honour you can win in the domestic game. Where as the Everton fans continue to critisize him even though he made the club alot of money. Players like Rooney who leave a club on good terms to better their career and make some money for the club they supported as a child should be applauded. Unlike half the young prospects you see being snapped up by Chelsea's millions these days.

Also why do the BBC feel they don't have to critisize Steven Gerrard in any way. Is it so they don't upset Mark Lawrenson and Alan Hansen? Steven Gerrard is one of the biggest divers in the league yet this has never been mentioned on Match of The Day and he has been kissing his badge for years but when Chelsea came calling a couple of years ago he wanted out. If it wasn't for them winning the champions league he probably wouldn't be at Liverpool because he realized at that point he had no excuse to leave other than money and i'm sure money was his biggest motivation.
Time for England to trust Joe Cole 4:55pm on 08 Sep 2008 Good piece other than the stuff about Lescott. He is not as good as people make out. Constantly out of position and can't read the game. It is his goals which made people take notice of him, yet Moyes deployed him at left back for the majority of last season as he realized that he goes to sleep defensively.

Anywayz i agree about Joe Cole. Without the guidence of Mourinho we would never have seen his potential but he has matured into a very good player who can produce moments of magic out of nothing.

My final point is about Wayne Rooney. I am a Man Utd fan and Rooney has been my favourite player for the last few seaons. However every year he keeps picking up little knocks and it has held him back. This year i thought he would have learnt from that and keep himself in shape throughout the summer ready to prove himself but this has not been the case and i hope Capello and Ferguson drop him to teach him a lesson. He feels he is in the comfort zone but with Berbatov coming in Ferguson can now afford to drop him.

However Shah would have been a better pick. If there reason for choosing Collingwood was that he can bowl abit then it seems a silly pick since Collingwood could bowl all day at Ntini and not get him out.
