Your questions to Andy Murray 4:21pm on 17 Jun 2009 How did you feel when your brother beat you to a Wimbledon title? My brother and I are both really competitive. If we had been in a similar situation I would have been proud of him - but it would have really wound me up too!
What do you think of the fixtures list? 1:47pm on 17 Jun 2009 QPR's owners must be delighted with the fixture list. We're at home for the three traditionally big dates - first game of the season, Boxing Day and the last game of the season (against Newcastle no less). Should see full houses for all three - and a bit more cash in the coffers for our billionaire bosses.

Let's hope they spend some of it on new talent before the season starts.
How long has Magilton got? 12:27pm on 05 Jun 2009 We're told Magilton was the outstanding candidate for the post. Which suggests that the club spent a long time whittling down a huge number of applications. Yeah, that's the same club which has extended the 'Early Bird' season ticket offer because they've been inundated with applications.

If they'd begun the interview process by asking 'Would you be prepared for a grey haired Italian to meddle with team affairs, not allow you any say in hiring and firing, and then boot you out with a big pay off when things don't work out?' I guess the process could have been a lot quicker.

I think you've summed up the views of the majority of season-ticket holders (mine anyway!) regarding the Flavio effect.

Personally, I was happy with him to come in, install flash seating and dining for him and his chums, and spend however much of his own cash as he wanted on his 'boutique' football club - just as long as it didn't have an adverse effect on the traditional QPR supporter.

But the massive ticket price rises enforced as soon as possible drove a wedge between owner and fans (comments such as 'I don't care what someone who only pays £20 thinks' didn't help either) and the club will have to win promotion for Briatore to win many back I feel.

But it looks like he has a good man in charge now - he just has to let him be in charge.
West Ham join Olympic Stadium mystery 12:03pm on 24 Sep 2008 Interesting that this subject is raised in the same week West Ham look to have been hit with a £30m law suit.

Hadn't the club previously rejected the chance to move to the Olympic Stadium?

But now, with a massive pay-out looming, does it suddenly seem like good business to sell Upton Park and pay rent on a bought-and-paid-for stadium, like Man City did?

What's key for me, though, is that the Olympic Stadium remains an athletics venue - top flight football clubs generate enough money to pay for their own all singing, all dancing stadiums whereas athletics needs funding from Olympics, governments and such to get new facilities.

To lose the Olympic Stadium as an athletics venue would be GB's first defeat of the Games.
Football League's deadline day winners and losers 3:44pm on 03 Sep 2008 As a QPR fan I'm disappointed we've not dipped into the transfer market before the deadline.

Everyone, from the media to rival fans, keeps telling us we're so rich and are spending so much, but this summer we've bought Gorkss from Blackpool for £250,000 and an Italian called Alberti for £100,000ish. Hardly big bucks.

What's most disappointing is that Martin Cranie - a player who excelled with us on loan last season before breaking his leg - has moved to Charlton. If this U21 star was available, we should have made sure we were first in the queue to sign him.

As it stands, we have only six defenders in the first team squad, which will not be enough to sustain a promotion push if any one of them gets injured.

Cranie is a very good acquisition and I expect him to shine in this division. Just a shame it's not in the blue-and-white hoops.
Transfer window not working in the Football League? 3:26pm on 28 Aug 2008 Supporting what has historically been a 'selling' club (QPR), I welcomed the introduction of the transfer window as it pretty much guaranteed that if your players hadn't been sold by midnight on the 31st August you'd be watching them for half a season at least.

Now, as the media keep telling us, 'moneybags' QPR has money to spend, I'd rather it was open all season long so that we could strengthen for a promotion push as and when required.

Provided teams don't go out of business because they can't cash in on their assets, it's nice to see a law that helps the less wealthy clubs to retain their best players.

Now if only the FA would encourage that by introducing realistic tribunal valuations to stop clubs like Spurs 'stealing' the English talent from clubs who have spent a lot of money and effort developing them.
Argentine trailblazers 3:50pm on 11 Aug 2008 Any info on QPR's new found Argentinian, Emmanuel Jorge Ledesma? Sounds like we plucked him from Genoa's reserves, but it looks like he's got the flair to be a very exciting addition to the Championship (when the weather's nice anyway).
