Ti NO. As Fluffy as already stated, the Bhopal plant was majority owned by Union Carbide with the other 49% owned by various Indian investors and public sector institutions.

The Union Carbide plant in Bhopal has always been called the Union Carbide plant in Bhopal. Your buck passing and excuses aren't going to change that fact.

Well I didn't know about persia attacking India in the eighteenth century. But I will take you to task on Iran supporting Arabs as a way to increase its hegemony in the region. An example is the relationship between the UK and France where there is a mutual dislike of the other probably based on having more in common. Neither country would want the other invaded or taken over by a foreign power. This has more to do with their own national security. I suppose Iran is not allowed to defend itself while Israel can.

The democratic (as well as the republican) party are not homogeneous. Rudy Guiliani and Mike Huckabee wouldn't vote the same. Neither would Nancy Pelosi or Heath Shuler.

Political parties are not homogeneous. In the British parliament members of a political party on vote on party lines to advance their careers not necessarily because they agree with the Bill.

British political parties have their own groups within their parties. The Torys have the very right wing Monday Club to the Tory Reform Group on the left of the party. Labour is the same. An example is the Socialist Campaign Group which is on the left of the party.

Anyway, it still doesn't answer my question as to why a 41% minority can, or have the right to stop, the 59% majority in the Senate. Going back to your point that the Republican party not being homogeneous then why do they all vote the same way on key legislation.

Perhaps they should re-name the official names of Senators from, for example, being the Senator for New York to being the Senator for Blue Cross Blue Shield etc.
