I have to agree with you that the 6000 rule is stupid. A club like QoS shouldn't be spending money they probably don't have. Just make a requirement for a minimum of 2000 spaces for away supporters and a club can have any capacity they want.

A few weeks ago when you mentioned a pyramid system I suggested a precursor to it must surely be regionalization of the 2nd & 3rd Divs, with a 2nd Div North and a 2nd Div South. This would greatly reduce travelling costs for clubs like Annan, Stranraer, Elgin, Peterhead etc and increase the chances of local matches. Steven Thompson of Dundee Utd also mentioned it within the last week. Do you agree that such a change would benefit Annan ? Surely travelling costs would be halved !

Remember though that Livingston could be getting a 15 points deduction, which on top of relegation to the 3rd Div seems pretty harsh, but that could really hold them back.

Also, with regards to a pyramidal system, do you think replacing the 2nd & 3rd Divs with a 2nd Div North & a 2nd Div South might be the first step towards such a system. Surely Annan no longer having to make the long trips to Elgin, Montrose & Forfar and replacing them with trips to Dumbarton, Clyde & Stenhousmuir can only help reduce travelling costs.

If you got rid of any more games there would be no football. 8 fewer league matches & 4/5 fewer cup matches.

However, I agree with Reserve teams being allowed into the League (not just the Old Firm). And amalgamating the 3 main bodies. And SPL or Football League teams entering earlier in the Scottish Cup to make the early rounds more interesting. And a winter break. And a pyramidal league structure where every team has the opportunity to play in the senior set-up.
I think the relegated team already gets a parachute payment. Might be wrong.

Adebayor should have known better 6:53pm on 17 Sep 2009 Thanks for the response Chris. I don't wish to labour the point but two weeks ago more than half of your blog was on the English transfer deadline.
I appreciate that it is difficult to write solely about Annan Ath every week so perhaps you could ask your BBC bosses if you could do the whole of the SFL.
I personally would like to hear how a small club survives financially, with your near neighbours Stranraer FC nearly folding, East Stirling forced to ground share etc.
Also, should the bottom divisions be regionalized. Surely Annan travelling to Elgin is costly. And can a pyramidal league structure ever happen.
Also, big time players are believed to do few hours does that mean part time players do even less ? Perhaps you could shed some light on training.
Also, maybe your remit could be increased to include non-league football.
Adebayor should have known better 7:16pm on 16 Sep 2009 Got to agree with no3 , surely you are supposed to be talking about Annan, 3rd Div football or lower league football in Scotland ( where you came from ).
It can't just be a popularity contest, obviously you are going to get more comments if you mention Adebayor in the headline. Just talk about English football, say Man Utd , all the time and you'll get loads of comments.
The BBC does enough on English football !
