Ramps for The Oval? 4:26pm on 14 Aug 2009 I really don`t see how anyone can make a case for Bell to play, it`s all very well putting him down the order, but can you imagine what the Aussies will say to him,and you may say `so what`,the thing is Bell quite clearly gets affected by sledging,banter or whatever you want to call it,he is a very weak character and as good as he can be at County level, he just can not transfer that form in to important International cricket,it`s all over for him, he has to be left alone to just be a good county player, as that is what he is.

Rob Key will not let anyone down if given the chance but that is doubtful ,as one of the selectors,Ashley Giles has a clear bias for the team he coaches(Warwickshire) so either Bell or Trott or both will play.

Ramps for The Oval? 8:45pm on 13 Aug 2009 I expect Ashley Giles will be saying how Bell should be given yet another chance after his on going innings today,but I have said before Bell is a bottle job,he is ok when the pressure is off,but if he comes in at 20 for 1 or 2 depending where he bats,he gets out cheaply and thats that, so he is not the man for the Oval,its not fair to anyone that he keeps on getting chances,he can not do it,and should never play for England again,I have said numerous times before that Key should play but if he does not,then it has to be Trott..NOT BELL.
Ramps for The Oval? 5:04pm on 13 Aug 2009 Bell looks like getting a century today, I just hope that the selectors do not start thinking that is enough for them to pick him again, he has got a fair few county tons in the past, but still bats terribly for England, he along with Bopara have to go.
Ramps for The Oval? 1:37pm on 13 Aug 2009 Yeah I agree with Giant_Mint, I have never been convinced by Anderson, I would drop him and stick in two spinners ,swann & monty or if not a spinning wicket Swann& Sidebottom.

It`s the usual cosy set up, where players like Anderson get chance after chance,Broad is another, but the biggest one has to be that waste of space Ian Bell ,how many chances can one over rated player get? he should never ever be selected again, he is not cut out for test cricket.
Key has to play for me.
Ramps for The Oval? 1:25pm on 13 Aug 2009 HarrytheHawk Key has to play ,you can not put Carberry in to a decisive Ashes decider for his debut but his time will no doubt come,he is fantastic player.
I think Carberry will go on the next tour.

Key has to play, Bell and Bopara are out of their depth and as hunterSWestHam said, they have very little or no character,Key is the man to win the ashes but will he get the chance? I doubt it because a)Strauss fears he may be more respected and listened to by the players than him and b) The management do not like his laid back,enjoys a beer type of attitude.
my team would be
Strauss,Key,Cook,Trott,Collinwood,Prior,Flintoff,Swann,Anderson,Harminson/sidebottom(depending on conditions),Panesar,12th man Onions.
On top of the world 5:30pm on 30 Jun 2009 Another lovely innings by Sarah Taylor and the gorgeous Ebony Rainford-Brent is showing that she is a great player as well as the prettiest girl in the world,she would be great at opening in my opinion as she looks like a great hitter and will always be sure to get England off to a flyer.
