Benitez under spotlight after Champions League exit 11:32am on 25 Nov 2009 A few questions from a non-Premiership team supporter:

1. Will Benitez be in trouble if he rests loads of players against Fiorentina?
2. When will some more of Liverpool's homegrown youngsters get a 1st team chance [if ever]?

Benitez on the brink? 2:33pm on 05 Nov 2009 As I said elsewhere, NUFC should have called it The Michael Owen Stadium in memory of their most loyal and devoted player of recent years.

As for Benitez, he is safe at Mediapool as long as the Yanks are there for the Kop to blame for everything from the Beatles split to Torres' hernia. Not forgetting Clive "the thinking Manc's Alan Green" Tyldesley, of course. How dare Liverpool have to tolerate such a biased commentator!
But Liverpool, the soap opera of English football, will qualify for the CL next phase and get a top 4 Premiership finish, if only because of the
inherently shite nature of the competition.
Can Burnley survive in the Premier League? 1:14pm on 13 Aug 2009 I used to love Burnley when they had Casper Kindon James Dobson etc - one of the best teams in the country to watch. Blake has always been a classy player and Fletcher is a great signing. Coyle is a top man.
I really hope they do well this season: as ever, my 3 to go down are Selfpitypool, Manure and Ch£ls£a.

What did you think of the show? Guest: Michael McIntyre 7:14pm on 05 Jun 2009 I couldn't help but notice there was one contributor to tonight's show who is not credited above. From Wikipedia:

"Trevor Kavanagh (born 19 January 1943) is a right-wing journalist and formerly the political editor of the Sun newspaper. He is a staunch Thatcherite."

I thought The One Show was an apolitical TV programme. Mr Kavanagh was allowed to present himself as an impartial commentator, which he clearly isn't. The One Show should either get someone truly impartial or be clear where this man's sympathies lie.

I'd appreciate a response to this, please.

Have you heard a cuckoo? 12:02pm on 02 Jun 2009 I haven't heard one yet this year, though my wife has; I've heard one pretty much each year since I can remember, though. I'd be interested to know how often others see one; I've only seen one 3 times; last time was about 6 years ago in the University Parks in Oxford; I was very lucky as I got a great view of a male on a telephone wire. They are such beautiful birds. 2 other cuckoo-related questions; 1) Can anyone clarify if the brown plumaged bird is a gender variation or something else entirely? 2)How many people have heard the 'water running out of the bath' sound the female makes? Is it possible to put a sound sample of that on the Springwatch site? Thanks!

I didn't see the matches but the Liverpool result gave me the most pleaseure by far, not because I like Liverpool (far from it) but because I always enjoy seeing a team who, over the past 20 years have done nothing whatever to distance themselves from the large fascist element among their fans, get beaten. How Beckham and Owen ever slept at night playing for that club is beyond me.

Fair comment, especially when the bloke in black is Mark Clattenberg and 'your team' is Liverpool. Watch out, Man U...Clatters is on his way back! It's not over yet...
