West Ham's stadium plans set to change 5:49pm on 17 Nov 2008 I appreciate it's only 'might' at this stage, and Mihir is just giving an overview of the latest thinking in the Hammers' boardroom, rather than reporting a definitive news development.

But is the update that West Ham could potentially end up staying at Upton Park rather than move or take over the Olympic Stadium really of no interest then?

#3 - if you look at Mihir's blog from yesterday, and our coverage throughout the week, not least from cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew, we have certainly reflected the criticism there has been in the build-up to the game. That said, it is also important to hear from the man himself, especially in the light of all that criticism.

Keegan exit turns heat on Ashley 8:32pm on 02 Sep 2008 As sports news editor on the BBC Sport website, let me try to explain our approach to this story today so far:

We have been careful, all day, to be as sure as we can be about what we have been reporting on the story before publishing.

And earlier today, we had very good reason to believe that Keegan had left the club. So produced our coverage accordingly, including this blog from Phil.

Given Newcastle's statement, we have now changed our story to reflect that they deny sacking him.
And we have also - for now - removed the link to this blog from the Keegan story page, our front page and football page, until we know more.

But at this stage, the exact situation still remains unclear.

And to clarify, we have never actually claimed he was or has been sacked.

The story may well continue to evolve and change, given Newcastle have - as of 8:30pm - also chosen not to confirm he is still at the club.

All I can reiterate is that as the BBC, we do at all times strive to report what we believe to be fact, or the correct information on stories, even if they are fast-moving and constantly changing.

London prepares for Olympic party 3:29pm on 23 Jun 2008 Jordan D - the way in which we refer to events and associated sponsors depends on a number of factors, including:

* the nature of the event and how well known it is in a generic name
* whether we are rights holders, and the terms of our broadcast agreement
* the extent of our coverage on our various services and the different ways we may or may not be able to do so

Without wanting to go into exhaustive detail, we do aim to fairly reflect a sponsor's involvement when it's felt appropriate within the breadth of our coverage.

But at the same time, we have to take our responsibility as an impartial public service (ie: non-commercial) broadcaster very seriously.

So while that might mean we do things differently from one competition or sport to another, I'd hope that reassures you we do take such considerations seriously, and seek to be fair to everyone at all times in assessing when, where and how we do or don't reflect the involvement of sponsors or other commercial involvement.
