Ask Bearders #170 4:03pm on 18 May 2008 Question 54 - definitely out. This happened in the Minor Counties final between Staffordshire and Wiltshire at Lords, when Steve Dean of Staffs who was on 99, drilled a ball towards long on but the ball hit his partner's foot and the bowler North took a spectacular caught and bowled. Later it appeared on Question of Sport.
Ask Bearders #170 09:48am on 15 May 2008 Bill, could you tell me if there has ever been an instance where a fielder (other than the keeper) has taken a hattrick of catches? It happened in a Hampshire League game last weekend as the bloke took all 3 of a bowler's hattrick and I did it years ago in a tour game, taking the 2nd,3rd,4th of a bowler's 4 in 4. But has it ever happened in first-class or international cricket?
