As for England, onwards and upwards hopefully!
Semenya left stranded by storm 1:54pm on 20 Aug 2009 #162 - Flo Jo is a very eyebrow raising issue based on the fact that her times improved dramatically in 1988 and then retired not long after and then passed away at a young age.

I'm not saying anymore but I'm just putting the above point out there.

They can't buy the very best players as they are already at Madrid or Barcelona. Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Kaka, Huntelaar etc.

Other top players are Torres and Arshavin and they won't be able to sign them.

So next on the shopping list would be players such as David Villa and Ribery.
Personally, as good a player as he is I would release Tevez if the asking price is £32million and sign Villa instead.

Man Utd need a holding Midfielder type player who will put his foot in as was eveident in the Champions League Final. That player is Hargreaves but his knees are shot and Fletcher is good but he is not a Keane type player.

As a replacement for Ronaldo, they could do no worse then go for Ashley Young. He would develop even further at Man Utd and I think Aston Villa would sell for the right price.
Capello shows the Midas touch 08:47am on 20 Nov 2008 I thought we did well under Eriksson with the exception of the 2006 World Cup. Despite reaching the Quarter Finals we were poor throughout and the squad he took with him baffled many.
Only taking 4 strikers 2 of which were not fit (Owen and Rooney) and one who was still a child (Walcott).
So extremely unfair to compare Erkisson to McLaren.

Anyway, after a shaky start to his management campaign Capello really seems to have them playing the way Capello teams do...pressing and chasing balls and a solid defence (apart from the madness of the Germany Goal).
Glen Johnson and Matthew Upson looked different players to past performances!
There were many other individual performances such as Agbonlahor, Carrick and Wright-Phillips.

He won't be afraid to drop big names when it comes to qualifying as he has already shown with Owen and Beckham excluded.
Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand and both Coles better pull their fingers out or they will find themselves on the bench.

Capello and Barwick suffer as England struggle 12:03pm on 21 Aug 2008 In regard to Barwick I personally feel it is good riddance.

This is the man that preferred Steve McLaren as manager over the other shortlist of Martin O'Neill, Harry Redknapp and Sam Allardyce.

All I can say is that Steve McLaren must have given a VERY good interview!

Oh and Barwick was also repsonsible for the whole Scolari farce!

The media hype made out like it was a done deal. In reality; I bet Man City barely made contact with him.
