This surely has to be one of the best songs of the 1990's if not the best.

What's the frequency Bryan? 12:37pm on 02 Jun 2009 Good news GIO is back on the medium wave. It means I don't have to go into the computer room to listen online.

Living around 60 miles from the border I get Radio Scotland fine on medium wave but no joy on FM.

It would be good if GIO stayed on the MW now.

For Tuesday's piano show, how about 'Animal Mentality' by punk singer-songwriter Patrik Fitzgerald?

This was the lead track on his 'Tonight' ep. The use of only piano and vocals lends a haunting, dramatic effect. Short and to the point.

Not a conventional first crush like Debbie Harry or Kate Bush, but once I'd seen the band on TV I was a goner!

From June 1980, the single 'Final Day' from the seminal album 'Colossal Youth' is a belter. Think the band only ever released two singles but I could be wrong about that.

Who needs Girls Aloud?

From 1977, these Heartbreakers are much better than the Tom Petty variety.

For Wednesday's show, how about No More Talk from Dubstar?

This single from 1997 was one of a number of lowly placed hits for the band which should have been bigger.

Dubstar were fronted by Sarah Blackwood who left in November 2008.

I wonder if anyone remembers the compilation 'Beat Runs Wild' which was out around 1986? It was in most record shops for 99p.

There was some good stuff on there including Hipsway, Love and Money and Swing Out Sister.

Also included was a track by ex-Clash drummer Topper Headon called 'Hope For Donna'.

This if I remember was part of a double a-side single released in 1985.
