Robbo's England World Cup squad 01:47am on 16 Oct 2009 First thing. Three or four of all the contenders will be injured this season.Can't see Joe Cole or Owen ever being fit enough for 90 mins a la Mr Capello ever again. Rio's recent health is also a worry.
Second thing. There's always at least one surprise player picked for every tournament. Wilshere possibly? And given Adam Johnson's possible departure to the PL at Christmas ( sorry Robbo ) he's another possibility because he has a left foot.
Third thing. I think FC demands balance so Downing, if fit , will go and also if Ashley Young plays on the right ( and he is right-footed ) he's a much better option than Lennon. SWP has no chance at all.
Wish we had a left back though.Cashley will be targeted by the big boys - a bit like when Wimbledon used to play teams with little full backs ( John Beresford, anyone ?)
It's a worry isn't it chaps?

I saw Ryan Giggs as a schoolboy playing for England at Wembley when he called himself Ryan Wilson. If he'd opted to play for England he'd have more caps than Beckham ( who btw only started a little over 1/2 of the games he played in - unlike Bobby Moore ) and England might have been genuine contenders. I can't remember the last time we had an effective left- sided attacking player.
Separating fact from fiction 00:16am on 16 Aug 2008 Do I see too many conspiracies?
1) Bush wants McCain to win the next presidential election .
2) Russia is the old enemy.
3) The USA has 1000 advisors in Georigia 'helping' their USA - educated President ( along with 1000 Israelis).
4) McCain may well be losing to Obama.
5) A Republican response to a Russian problem may well be a vote winner compared to a more measured Democrat response.
6) Stir up a problem in Georgia, act and talk 'righteously' and wait for a Republican victory come November.
Or am I too paranoid?
Hindsight is Twenty20 4:41pm on 08 Jul 2008 Re : playing in the South. I was there last night, will not be at Uxbridge. Have you any idea how much it costs to go to London, prat?
So supporters don't matter in your book?

I assume the powers that be will make a rational decision that does not penalise Durham NOR their supporters.
