Plotters, quitters and fighters 5:14pm on 16 Nov 2009 There's no doubt that Labour would improve their chances by replacing Brown with practically anyone else. However that would be letting labour off the hook. It is failed labour policies that have led the country to this awful position, not individual personalities.

Labour are printing money like there's no tomorrow just to keep the economy on a life support machine long enough to fight the general election. By that time the incoming tory government will have no option but to make big cuts to get the defecit down so we don't lose our AAA credit rating.

I for one cannot wait to see the back of this mendacious, vindictive, useless government. Brown is just the cheerleader.
It won't be March 11:13am on 12 Nov 2009 Obviously the general election was going to be called as late as possible. This is because Gordon is hoping that David Cameron is caught photographed eating a baby; the only situation where people would sooner vote Labour.

To think that he was meant to be the great hope for Labour; desposing the mad king Gordon and leading Labour to an unlikely fourth term. He has turned out to be just another inept home secretary in long line of incompetents.
Why them and not us? 5:10pm on 23 Oct 2009 6 successive quarters .. and all this despite the VAT cut and the BoE printing extra money. Labour have really outdone themselves this time, it makes black wednesday look like a bad day at the office. I wonder how long before the IMF come knocking at our door and demand that we slash public spending?
Nick Griffin on Question Time 10:37am on 23 Oct 2009 So the odious Mr Griffin got his time in the spotlight, problem is by the end of the programme he'd achieved martyr-like status. Obviously handpicked questions from the audience designed to show him up as a racist rather than a proper debate about immigration (the elephant in the room). The sanctiomonious waffling from Jack Straw was by far the most digusting performance on display. Here's a man appeasing extremist in his own constituency to garner votes, who represents a government that has launched two unnecessary wars on foriegn countrys, curtailed our civil liberties like no other, and created more debt than any in this country's peactime history. Yet, for tonight, reasonable debate was left along with the guardian-reading flying pickets at the BBC gates, as everyone rounded on the pantomime villian Nick Griffin.

Whether people like it or not, the BNP represent the views of 2 million people in this country so hardly a fringe party. In fact, there are more people who voted BNP than there are muslims living in the UK. Maybe the mainstream parties should actually stop and listen to the man in the street's view on immigration and get off their high horses for a change instead of villifying anyone who disagrees with them.
Brown will take part in debates 12:44pm on 30 Sep 2009 I do hope Brown actually goes ahead with this. Not everyone watches PMQs every week so they probably have no idea about how poor Brown is when put on the spot. He spins, obfuscates, misleads, lies, regurgitates tractor production figures and takes cheap shots at the tories. In short, he doesn't "debate" in any true sense of the word at all.
The Obama and Gordon card 09:41am on 24 Sep 2009 Brown is like the loser at school hanging round with the popular kid in the hope that it will get him the girls. What a sad figure our prime minister has become.
The axe begins to swing 4:30pm on 18 Sep 2009 If only Labour had restrained public spending in the first place, then they wouldn't have needed to hammer the middle class with stealth taxes for the last 12 years.

The punchline? Despite being showered with our cash for years and landing us with a huge debt, public services don't seem to have improved very much.
Big choices 3:53pm on 15 Sep 2009 And why do we need to make cuts at all, Mr Brown? Surely after 12 years of record tax receipts we have plenty of money saved up for a rainy day such as this?
The 'C' word 12:05pm on 15 Sep 2009 Don't bottle it, Gordon! Just keep spending way beyond the country's means for another few months and you can leave an almighty mess for those nasty tories to sort out. You can blame it all on them!
