Journalists need prompting too 05:26am on 26 Mar 2009 In response to #8: No one is more articulate than Bill Clinton. No one. Obama, a very smart individual, does not have the knowledge, experience, book smarts and academic achievement that Clinton has. We need to go back to Lincoln to get his par.

I enjoyed this blog very much and it provided a break from all the ugly election coverage. Like others have said, I am glad you took the time to get to know us a little. Do write a book, you are so talented and really captured the spirit of America. You didn't come to Tallahassee, I forgive you, there is so much to see. True to our nature, after November 4 we will go back to normal and move on.

Come back soon and if you are ever in my town, stop by for some good pulled pork, hush puppies, killer grean beans and Brunswick stew. Bring all your friends! God bless.

Here in the US we have a nightly show where the host goes out to interview the goofiest people (they edit out smart responses) and watch them make fools of themselves. I will enjoy your blog a lot, Jon. But I don't think some of your readers get it, they assume all 305,121,951

Has Gordon Brown endorsed Obama? 04:26am on 10 Sep 2008 What does it matter to me, an American miles and miles away, whom a failed British PM endorses? A non- citizen of the US should not be telling us Americans who to vote for. We don't interfere in your politics, even when your current PM is less than stellar. The more the world cries OBAMA!the more Americans will vote McCain. Mark my words.
Beijing, over and out - follow that, London! 03:16am on 25 Aug 2008 I am hoping that the London Games turn up great, but I worry about the xenophobia against the Americans, French and Aussies that is so rampnat in England. Can people put these aside and be welcoming hosts or will they simply tell people from these countries to stay away? Hmm...
Is Phelps really the greatest? 7:36pm on 13 Aug 2008 Let's face it, the British will never accept an American to be called the greatest at anything. The names mentioned here as "the real greatest" ar erisible and many unknown. You have to be really ignorant when it comes to swimming to underestimate the greatness and difference of each race. Phelps is the greatest and he is clean, get over it.

One good thing Americans have: They are not sore losers and they cheer for winners, wherever they might be from. Example: Padraig winning the US Open. Some people here in Europe have even suggested that Phelps retire to give others a chance to win. Ha!
Bitter bus passengers 10:50am on 07 Jul 2008 Justin, just when I think you are the only reasonable European who does not go around parroting that we Americans are all fat, gun-toting and religious freaks you come and say that the gas prices will turn anyone in a small town into a bible-thumping cowboy.

Many of us in small towns like the feeling of not being crowded, of being by family and many of us are college educated and beyond. The suburbanite who has an hour and a half commute to New York for work has the same problem, will they also morph into this stereotypical beast? Seems to me you are fallen under the Obama mantra of "small-town bitter Americans".
