Simpler message 09:01am on 06 Dec 2008 For me it will be several years until I access news via a mobile phone. I find the time to load a page takes a long time and I am not confident about receiving television on it. Even if I could get a BBC live stream on my mobile I am not sure I would watch it as I have vision problems and the small screen on a mobile makes it difficult for me to see. Right now I prefer either television or the BBC web site.
The BBC licence free? 11:19am on 28 Nov 2008 I believe there is a fairer system in which people are given the choice to subscribe to the BBC by paying a monthly or yearly fee to their service provider like they do in America for PBS. If they do not pay the fee then they cannot receive BBC programming. At a time when every pence counts paying a tv licensing fee is daft and it should be scrapped. For me I can think of a lot of things that my yearly tv licensing fee can buy. Hopefully this year BBC executives will freeze their pay and not take bonuses in order to keep the burnden off of the consumer.
The BBC licence free? 07:59am on 28 Nov 2008 I am not sure if the UK is the only country that requires its citizens to pay for receiving news by television. My understanding there is a bill before Parliament to scrap the tv license fee by 31 December 2012 and I hope it becomes effective sooner. In my honest opinion I would not pay for the BBC due to its anti-American and Anti-Isarel bias in reporting. At the present time I believe the fee is too much and with the economic problems I hope the fee is reduced if not eliminated this year. Probably the most flagrant waste of money by the BBC besides paying all of the fines it has been hit was the 60th Anniversary Special dedicated to the birth of Israel. That special showed the BBC's anti-Israel bias by neglecting the fact that Israel before it became a country was acutually a terroritory of the UK, it neglected that Israel's neighbors swore its destruction, and neglected the proposal of the two state solution which was proposed by the UK though rejected by the Israel's Arab neighbours in 1937. In my opinion the time has come to make the BBC compete with other station by scrapping the license fee altogether.
Public conversation 08:18am on 24 Sep 2008 Having watched BBC Breakfast on 24 September 2008 at 07:00 the reporter stated that Ruth Kelly was stepping down in order to be with her family. However the Daily Mail's online edition for 24 September 2008 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1060789/Transport-Secretary-Ruth-Kelly-resigns-Cabinet-telling-friends-disgusted-Browns-speech.html (last accessed on 24 September 2008) states her reason for stepping down was due to being disgusted by Gordon Brown's speech which was communicated to her a friend.

At the surface there appears to be a pro-Labour bias in reporting about Ruth Kelly's departure from the cabinet and the reporter could have stated something like, "Gordon Brown confirmed her departure from the Cabinet due to her desire to be closer to her family. However a close family friend is stating her departure has to do with her feeling disgust over Brown's speech at the Labour conference". How come a vital fact that was covered in the Daily Mail was missed by a reporter for the BBC?
