Newsbeat and the BNP 9:28pm on 04 Oct 2009 My comment of almost two days ago was inexplicably “referred to the moderators” yet has still neither been allowed nor removed: simply left in limbo apparently. Looks like a convenient way of suppressing comments without justification.
Newsbeat and the BNP 03:22am on 03 Oct 2009 I could be offended by the misuse of the word "Scotch", which should be applied only to whisky and a few other products, and is otherwise often used as a pejorative term.
Many are offended by the epithet "fat" when used pejoratively.
Many are offended (and frightened) by the close proximity of someone wearing a burqa.
Should everyone who gives offence be arrested?
I would not advocate addressing Pakistanis as Pakis but the PC brigade have encouraged a dangerous climate in which many choose to take offence too readily.
Even when such a term is used pejoratively, at worst it may cause hurt feelings, not real harm (unless prolonged aggressive use constitutes harassment), yet causing "offence" has come to be seen as a crime.
Perhaps we need to obsess less about "offence" and toughen up a little.

I've no doubt that you receive even more such texts and comments about Gordon Brown (not all from David Milliband) yet you are not so blunt when interviewing him! How does that make you impartial?

How boring! Rio will host the Olympics in seven years time. Do we really care if it was to be Rio, Chicago, Tokyo or Madrid?
Trying to enhance the storyline by linking it to the well recognised growing importance of non-G8 economies is hardly news.
And how tenuous and pathetic to link in Sarah Brown's support for Gordon via Barack and Michelle Obama's support for Chicago. Of course the wives support the husbands. All very predictable, and fairly irrelevant.
And Tinchy Stryder's (who? comments on the current socio-economic problems and a display of his merchandised clothing! Spare us!
Owen worth Man Utd gamble 9:44pm on 03 Jul 2009 Man U taking on Owen will be seen to be relatively insignificant in the course of the season. Being well past his best, which was always overrated and one-dimensional in my opinion, he'll be a bit player at most.

Of far greater significance for Man U to maintain a challenge in England and Europe is the need for two midfielders who can defend.

His desperate attempts to make party political issues out of the expenses farce typified both old and new labour - party first, parliament and the country last!
Back-slapping 4:51pm on 20 May 2009 "Mr Brown did go on to spell out the reasons he should have given for not going to the polls: namely, that this Parliament should sort out the current political and economic mess."

By that logic Michael Martin and Fred Goodwin should not have been forced out and Brown should postpone an election for decades.

The longer this dictator stays in power the longer it takes to reform our parliament, society and our economy.

We've tried that. Hasn't worked very well with radical Islamists who don't recognise tolerance.
