Did Google just blink? 12:18pm on 02 Dec 2009 I only ever use news.bbc for my news anyway, but this said, if everything in the world becomes free on the web.. particularly music, films and news content.. how will it get paid for. surely lack of competition will not help help impartiality or quality of product?

so if Murdoch doesnt get paid for his news, he'll eventually stop doing it. my mind is boggling here, help me out guys!!
Has MySpace lost its cool? 4:50pm on 22 Feb 2009 Facebook bells and whistles... = ignore all invites from this muppet. I have no apps at all installed apart from the standard ones that came with facebook. Ive been on it for around 2.5 years now, i have a modest amount of 'friends' all put in their own little pot i.e. school, work etc. The thing thats grabbed me the most about FB is the status new reel updates, addictive to say the least, that said io probably spend no more than 20mins a day on it ( and the chat client really sucks)

MySpace... was proabably cool and maybe still is, i have account but never really got on with it.. too old i suppose.

friends reunited should be the king of these, been around for years and years.. must be like missing out of the beatles!!

What happened to the $20 laptop? 3:25pm on 09 Feb 2009 if 70% of the country still live on around a dollar a day, even a $20 lapnetbooktablettop will still be a stretch. I certainly couldnt afford 20 days of my pay to buy something (that i assume to someone on a dollar a day) would be a massive extravagance, considering food and clean water is probably their greatest concern.

Archos did a PMA a few years back with linux on it, i though it was excellent. i bet they could easy beat the olpc with that if they minus'd the hdd and when with cheap flash

Its a weird one, years ago people use to use all sorts of words to describe people, which we do not now as they are politically incorrect and quite frankly horrible.

this picture is a throwback to those years, and is something that we are now (although i think there was a stink about it back then) more sensitive about.

i have looked at the picture and quite frankly it is bad and really shouldnt be promoted. i am sure that there are hundreds of other picture they could use.

as for the comment around books being available with the same image.. its tosh a book becomes a part of history the second its printed whether good or bad. the internet can be changed on a daily basis instantly (the biggest part of wiki!!).

I'm starting to miss plastic... 7:43pm on 14 Aug 2008 i have been watching this blog with interest as i think this task it nigh on impossible and where do you stop. if your car got nicked (touch wood it doesnt) tomorrow and the insurance company gave you top dollar to purchase a shiny new one, do you think you could by a car that does not have some sort of plastic or another on it. mind you, you could always get a tax exempt 40yr old morris minor. ;-)

the main thing that i agree wholeheartedly with is someone need to invent a 100% waste plastic to something useful machine, which i believe they are getting to, and perhaps the clever people should also change the way they use/make plastic to make it easier to recycle... and none of us would feel guilty yahaa

Phone apps - open or closed? 2:27pm on 11 Jul 2008 doesnt matter what apple do, or how funky and clever their products get. no of them will interest me. Nokia/Symbian all the way. I do like the idea of everything being in one place to look at/download, but i also like the fun of google
