Er no. There is only one agenda:
1. Make Brown look good in front of the media as "saving the world" (again)
2. Internationalise the economic crisis - it's nothing to do with Mr. Brown it's a global problem etc etc
3. Create more dividing lines with the Tories - the G20 is for fiscal stimulus, the Tories are not and are isolated (when in fact Mr. Brown is isolated).

It's a lot of money to pay for a purely party political event isn't it?

Like the utterly disastrous state of our economy.

Like the fact that more people died due to negligence in Stafford Hospital that British servicemen killed in the Iraq or Afghanistan conflicts.

Like the fact that Mr. Brown connived to destroy LloydsTSB by offloading the basket-case HBOS onto them.

Like the fact that our educational standards are going down the tubes.

...and so on. We need an election NOW

Will you eat your words re "grooming" as that has clearly not happened? It has also been a disgusting Nu-Lab smear that you have kindly repeated for them.

Will you also have a good word with "your friend" Michael Crick as Friday night's report on Newsnight was basically a 10 minute smear on Damien Green and The Tories.

Haven't you guys figured out yet that Labour are doomed and you'll be negotiating with a Tory culture secretary in 18 months or less?

Nick, one question that begs investigation. Did the civil servants who leaked documents to Gordon Brown whilst he was in opposition benefit in any way? Jobs with the Labour Party perhaps or with the Smith Institute?

If you are a journalist and not a Labour-mothpiece you should be looking into this.

Further VAT rise was considered 11:23am on 26 Nov 2008 There's a large black hole in this emergency budget of around £100Bn.

Call me cynical but are there future tax rises coming that Brown n' Darling aren't admitting to? Or rather won't admit to..... until after the next election on the implausible assumption they get re-elected?
Welcome to Brown's "There is no “hidden manifesto” – “everything is above board”."

Isn't the narrative something like this:

- Brown plans 1% rise in VAT
- Brown dithers and chickens out at last minute, cancelling the VAT rise
- Treasury very hasily edits documents and spreadsheets to remove references to it
- Hacks spot the sums don't add up because of the removal of this (and other?) tax rises
- Agh, cock up - miss editing a pesky addendum and the VAT rise becomes public.

This isn't just a cock up as Angela Eagle claims, if so why was the document containinig the VAT rise signed by Stephen Timms?
Pre-Budget report reaction 5:49pm on 24 Nov 2008 This is utterly disastrous. Does Brown really think this will win him the next election?

We are drowning in a sea of debt and Brown has just hit us over the head very hard with additional taxes.

This is it, the big one. This is a massive test of the BBC as an independent and bi-partisan media outlet. In short do you nail Labour's lies or go along with Mandelson's narrative?
Er this is the BBC, i.e. pro-Labour, pro-big government, pro-big state big spending, pro-high tax. Whaddaya think?

Do you point out that a 2.5% cut in VAT is trivial?
Do you point out that a 45p tax rate for those earning £150K (or is it £175K) will generate very little revenue and high earners have a habit of disappearing when taxes rise?
Do you point out that our personal borrowing levels are the highest in the developed world (178% of income) this fuelled the mirage of the "Brown Boom"?
DO you ask which other economies are looking at a deficit approaching 10% of GDP?
Do you ask why Northern Rock and B&B
had to be bailed out of supposedly an American economic problem? They are British banks, lending only in the UK in a regulatory structure designed by Mr. Brown

I fear that your BBC coverage will be little short of a Labour Party Election broadcast.
