If you're going to try and have a dig at another team, at least get it right. Last season we played West Brom on Sat 15th November (winning 3-0) and 26th December 2008 (winning 2-0). We played Barcelona on April 28th and May 6th. You must have got confused with the reserve game on April 20th which Carvalho and Belleti played in. Oops.
On another note, I don't think it's fair that Mick McCarthy get singled out when other teams do it. On the whole he's the manager, and he should be able to use his squad as he sees fit.
Got to love Wenger moaning yet again about the fixture list. Check out who we've played after Champions League weekends, and then be amazed that Mr Ancelotti hasn't moaned in any shape or form. The last couple of weeks have brought into sharp focus who Mr Wenger really is.

Yes there was the obvious where Carvalho had to help him out and head it away from under the crossbar, but if you were to watch him for the whole 90mins, he dealt with the high ball very successfully, and at times, he in fact dominated crossed in a way that perhaps he hasn't for a while.

On the free kick; yes perhaps Cech should have done better with it, but it was hit with some pace, and was perhaps a bit unsighted so again I feel you’re being a bit harsh. More importantly, Mr McNulty, you have conveniently failed to mention the contentious nature of the free kick being given in the first place. If Johnny Evans can get away with a karate kick, yet Carvalho gets booked for making a clear challenge, there's something wrong.

Chelsea didn't really deserve anything more than a point (no doubt we got a bit complacent after the opening period), but I do feel we were hard done by yet again, and until Man City stop getting a little help from the man in black (or whatever other colour they where...), this raving about serious top 4 contenders is perhaps a little premature. Of course they've got a chance, but there's no need to get carried away.
Chelsea & Liverpool under scrutiny 10:07am on 02 Oct 2009 Hilario has kept a clean sheet against Barcelona. Not many goalkeepers can say that in recent years so I'm quietly confident he will prove a few people wrong.

Of course I'm worried about Liverpool, because some of their players can be unplayable at times. Having said that I feel Chelsea have more match winners and fresh legs like Mr Drogba and Bosingwa to come into the team meaning that if the right Chelsea turn up for a change, they will be more than a match for Liverpool.

Like many I feel it will be tight, but that's partly due to the inconsistency of both sides. If it weren't for a lucky deflection last season, Liverpool wouldn't have won at Stamford Bridge, and with Ancelotti showing more strings to his tactical bow, I feel the result will have a very different outcome to last year.

The ban is against registrations as opposed to deals, and therefore if they can't register someone, they can't sign them so I think it includes loan deals too.

Damn wished they'd signed Quaresma on a short derm deal.
Chelsea will suffer if transfer ban stands 10:16pm on 03 Sep 2009 Of course as a Chelsea fan I'm quite upset by the ruling as I think it will have a bigger impact than some people are letting on but if Chelsea have broken the rules, then they do deserve to be punished. I'm a diehard fan, but that doesn't stop me from knowing right from wrong, and if the club is wrong, they deserve it. My problem is the disproportionality of the decision, as well as the impact upon staff and some players who weren't even involved in the case. If there was some evidence of input from Kenyon or Arneson, then I wouldn't mind seeing them banned personally, but to impact on the players chances of winning the top prizes in a short career, well that's very short sighted on FIFA's part.
Gael isn't half a bad player mind. Certainly one for the future. I can see why Lens are a little wound up by it. Now it's time for the academy to show what it's worth!
Who will be market movers? 09:28am on 01 Jul 2009 I had heard the rumours about Joe Cole too, but I don't see him leaving. Ancelotti has a habit of helping players (especially local - in his case Italian players) to find form and having Joe Cole back would be like having a new signing. Considering he plays where Anelka was towards the end of the season, Chelsea would therefore would be able to switch Drogba and him around once JC is fit. Would reduce the need for a new striker. Kinda hoping the rumours of Ashley Young will die down, for that may be the nail in Joey's coffin.

If we are going for a central midfielder, and I don't know why Chelsea would, I would rather see De Rossi, as opposed to Pirlo join.

People also seem to forget that Chelsea is in talks with Atletico Madrid over Aguero, and not Manchester United last time I checked.

Raining in on the Ashley Cole parade, some people are completely prejudice or blinkered about him; he is not as monstrous a person as people like to make out, and if you're able to see that, he had a fine season. Would rather have him than any other left back in the world. Bosingwa wise, it's all about Maicon if he goes. Someone who has real class. As my Dad (and others on here have mentioned), the Bosingwa situation is as much about trying to get Ribery - again another one in which I'm hoping doesn't come to fruition.

All in all, apart from the three apparent dead certs of Zhirkov, Sturridge and Ross Turnbull, I would like to see a star striker added and nothing more.
Comments 5:38pm on 29 Jun 2009 Stop compalining about the coverage and acutally buy yourself a ticket next year. While not as good as last year, the festival produced some golden moments that I will cherish forever, particularly Blur doing Parklife. Glad I chose them over The Prodigy.
What do you think of the fixtures list? 2:03pm on 17 Jun 2009 Chelsea have got a very mixed bag, but I'm sure it is the same for everyone. The fixture computer has been kind for the beginning games of the season, but somehow we play Tottenham, Liverpool, Man United, Arsenal and Everton after Champions League Group games and the potential to do so if Chelsea are in the later stages of the tournament. That somewhat kills the League and Europe double. Still playing United, Spurs and Liverpool later in the season at least gives us the opportunity to win the title at Anfield or WHL ;)
Moyes and Everton can defy odds 09:24am on 29 May 2009 As a Chelsea fan it would be incredibly stupid to suggest that the game tomorrow will be an easy game; of course it won't be, two 0-0 draws shows that. But Huddink has restored hope and faith to both the players and the fans, and I think Chelsea will be just too strong. As others have suggested, I could see it going to extra time. Expect plenty of goals though; Chelsea aren't exactly defending well at the moment, but the attack is playing better than any other front three in the country at the moment.
