A journey through China's economic crisis 11:17am on 19 Jun 2009 Thank you very much Paul for an insightful film. Some of them are new even to me. I am chinese from eastern part of china.

Chinese people sometime are not very open-minded. Even people from east having difficulty to understand the people from the west.

This film gives a glinpse of several aspect of chinese society. I think it is very good. I finally can see BBC quality in it. Keep it up and thank you again for doing such a great film about china, my homeland.
Facing swine flu scrutiny 09:32am on 29 May 2009 That is pretty silly I have to say. it seems chinese government finally found a better way to control the citizen, by fear. This must be borrowed from west. Shame.

If the so called welfare system you mention let people do little work but get plenty pay and fat pension, and all these are funded by borrowing so that your next generation was stack up to the throat to debt, and suffered to the generation to come, it is a no no to china.

Funny that when asked to lose a job or to accept a pay cut most brits goes for the losing job.

Why do you accept the lowering of living standard when you have no choice but would not accept a reduction voluntarily in the hope to save for future? it is your children' future for chirst sake.

Chinese people will do. they would accept a lower pay in the eyes to provide better future for their children.

When people keeping on blaming government, why not look at yourself to see what you can do to make the society better?

By the way, the consumption of resources per head of westerners is way higher than a Chinese people. Even if china imported a lot resource it was to produce and provide for you.

Nobody wants to colony britain. The weather is awful and you don't produce anything. Just because you have the history of colonising other countries doesn't mean everybody would think like you.
We chinese are fine in our land. we just want to have enough food and shelter for everybody, that's all.
How news breaks in China 2:50pm on 26 Feb 2009 I think I can explain why your media and our media report things differently. Because it is not your country so you want to cause as much havoc as you want so that you can see the drama from outside.

But to chinese media it is our country we want treat with social concience as care. That is why our media don't use uncertified sources and select pictures carefully.
Losing their heads 2:14pm on 26 Feb 2009 I have to say the news hit me hard, like a hammer to my heart. Once again, we Chinese opened heart and show sincere truthfulness about our feelings but get a slap in return.

I cried for five seconds, in memory of my ancestor’s hardworking. Then I will wipe my tear and work HARD. we Chinese are resilient. we survive 5000 years, longest continuous human civilization. We sustained all odds. We will be strong. One day, robbers are going to pay.
Choosing the next leader 10:14am on 18 Feb 2009 Why? To foreign media it is mess but to us chinese it is not.

In the end the fitter survives and rules the country. It is our Chinese type of democracy. It works so far.
