While the cat's away... 09:40am on 06 Aug 2009 I am actually starting to feel quite sorry for Gordo. It is no wonder he throws phones and fax machines around when he is surrounded by almost complete incompetence.

Interesting point about the increase in funding, my biggest concern is the proportion of money going in at the top and what is coming out of the bottom of the NHS.

My biggest fear is that much of it gets fed into the 'Health Advice' machina and not enough going to fund the 'real' care and services that are on offer.

If anything should be cut it should be the - 'Nanny knows best' department.

Ever since Labour got into power I have heard nothing but how my life should be run according to their healthy living mantras, even though they can't afford for us to live longer they still seek to demonise our lifestyles rather than invest in core delivery services.

In a week that has seen devastating news about the economy, £32bn loss in revenvue, Labour U turns on cuts, Failure of the flu websites, accusations at the PM about Afganhistan, contradictions within his own cabinet... and all you can come up with is a quick jibe at the Tories, a comment on a non-story about spin and a 'there, there poor Gordon'.

The bias of your reporting is now totally proven. It is a disgrace that the BBC allow this kind of blogging in an alleged impartial way.

Would it not also be prudent to seperate Investment Banking completely from the Lending Institutions so that risky investment and share dealing cannot compromise mortgages and lending.

From a government that has forced so many legal changes through on a whim, I suspect that this is more about not losing.

I find it reprehensible that he can bribe MP's to cover up his mistakes and that his party will accept bribes rather than vote for the interests of the people who elected them.

This government makes me sick. I work hard for my money only to see it ripped from my fingers and abused by these parasites.

I listened to the speech and Tory HQ are quite right.

Maybe you need to re-evaluate your sources or more importantly your reporting impartiality!
'A bonfire of the quangos'...? 10:45am on 06 Jul 2009 Quangos are without doubt the biggest waste of money that this and previous governments have supported.

Because they rely on achieving government objectives it is all too easy for them re-word, adjust or re-address statistics that help to justify their budgets and existence.

They are all little more than the man running around a warehouse with a piece of paper looking busy but achieving nothing.

Time they were gone. There are other ways to achieve the things they were set up for.

More 'jobs for the boys' than any real use. Ofcom and the others have done little to really keep their industries in line, they certainly haven't kept my utility bills down!

It is the hole in a wet paper bag time, pouring more water into it is not going to fix the hole, it is going to just make it bigger.

Less borrowing for businesses so that more businesses go bust and therefore more unemployed.

I am afraid 'York' - Brown's already well on his way to your 4.5million unemployed and he didn't have to become conservative to achieve it - the recession is only just beginning.

Listening to Mandleson on Andrew Marr I was physically cringing at the complete scorn, dismissiveness and arrogance that he shows for the people of this country.
